Hi Debbie,

I am almost finished your Circuit Mix Rotation and I loved every minute of it. Thanks! Now I am trying to decide what to do next. I was going to do the get ready for summer rotation, but now I am not sure thats the best choice.

I recently lost twelve pounds, the last of the baby weight from my DD, and am currently 5'7" and 123lbs. So now I just want to lean out and get some great defintion.

Thanks for the help!

Linda

Hi Debbie,

I've been looking at all your rotations and quite frankly I want to do them all! But I wanted to pick the right one for my current goals.

Thanks for your help.

Linda

Hi Debbie,

Sorry to bother you again, but I was studying the Muscle Building Rotation and I've never done so little cardio. I mean, do I need more cardio to help lean out? Or will the strenght training do it?

Linda

You should be fine. If you notice a body fat increase, which I doubt you will, increase your cardio a bit. Maybe do 30-45 minutes in the evenings a few days a week.

Hi Debbie,

Okay, Okay, Okay last question I promise. Its just this is the first time I am doing rotations from this site, because I am not getting where I want to go on my own.

I like the Muscle Building Rotation, but I saw on another rotation post where you said you can't gain muscle and lose fat at the same time and I do feel like I have to lower my body fat level some more and I do want muscle and definition but I don't want to bulk up either.

So maybe I should do this followed by an endurance rotation? I don't know I feel so very confused!

Linda

Linda, at 5'7" and 123 lbs. you can't have much fat on you anymore. And you're right, it is hard to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time but for some people it is possible. You have to figure out what your body responds to the best. Everyone is different. If you lose fat more easily doing cardio, then continue with an endurance rotation.

Maybe do an endurance rotation for another four weeks and then move onto building muscle. And believe me, you won't "bulk" up unless you take steroids. Woman cannot gain muscle mass easily, we tend to get more sculpted looking muscles verses huge bulky muscle.

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for all your help and patience. I am going to go ahead with the muscle building rotation. Maybe what I am looking at is lack of definition rather than fat. If I find its not working, then I'll switch it up.

By the way, I went out and looked at your pictures. Your transformation is amazing! You truly are an inspiration!

Thanks again,
Linda

PS: Do you have any thoughts on those diet/fitness plans such as Body RX that say you just need to strenght train really heavy to lean out without no or next to no cardio? My sister in law swears by Body RX. She's always spouting off about what you should or shouldn't do or eat, but doesn't look to be in that great of shape. That plan just kind of goes against what you said.

In all honesty, when I was in my early 20's (I'm 40 now), I did nothing but weight training. I hated cardio and never did cardio. I was the leanest I've ever been and had no fat on me and could eat anything and everything. I think age has changed all that, unfortunately. But I do find that weight training leans me out more than cardio does, but I like doing cardio now to keep my heart strong.

I've also read a lot about weight training and losing fat. Its interesting stuff, so I guess my answer is yes - I do believe it can work for certain people. I don't know much about Body RX but I will look into it.

Hi Debbie,

I'm finishing up P90X Classic this month. I was thinking about doing your Endurance rotation for July. Is that a good one to do after P90X or should I go another direction? Thanks for all of your great rotations.
