Fitness Gifts

Cathlete
My birthday is coming up in two weeks and my husband wants to know what I want. I'm going to ask him for fitness gifts but I want to give him lots of ideas so he can surprise me. I'm not going to ask for videos since I usually just buy those when I feel like blowing a little cash. I don't want him to get me anything I "need", just some frivilous stuff to make my workouts more fun.

So far I've come up with:

a heartrate moniter (not sure which one, I want one of the fancy ones that tracks your calories and stuff.)
a Bosu ball (I don't think it would work with my Cathe workouts but I could TOTALLY use it with most of my Firm workouts.)

Any more ideas? What would you ask for?

New shoes. You can always use those, and good shoes make a workout much more fun! How about some nifty workout clothes? Weighted gloves for kickboxing?

Hmmmmm...I'm thinking some REALLY cute workout clothes like the ones they have at REI (as opposed to the ones I normally get at Target)

Bosu is what is on my list! :D How about med balls? boxing bags and gloves, pull-up bar, cute outfits... I could think of a million things! :) ;)

I'm definitely adding medicine balls to the list. We were actually just looking at boxing bags and talking about how much fun it would be to hang one in the garage.

The rebounder looks cool but I have this crazy, irrational fear of crashing into the ceiling.

Kristy, I hear you. I am dying to get one (I have the Urban Rebounder from HSN open in another window), but I have this mental picture of my 7 year old, feet only sticking out of the ceiling...

:)

Marie

Melody, do you have the Urban Rebounder? Whatever brand, how does it hold up to the inevitable bouncing children? This is my only concern with the UR; I don't want to buy something that can't withstand at least SOME rough-housing. I have a 7 yo and a 14 yo, both boys, both LOADED with energy!

Marie

ETA - Kristy, sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. :)

I have a theory that all 14-year-old boys have brain damage.

It's okay, I'm all about the hijacking

Do you have a dumbell rack? I used my $$$ that I made on e-bay to get one. I LOVE it!! Not only does it hold my dumbells, it also holds my med ball, jump rope, ankle weights, etc.

Marie-

I don't have a clue as to what brand of rebounder mine is - it's been locked away from the boys soooo long, I forgot. Obviusly, I am not using it. But do a search, I know fitmom (Wendy) has an urban rebounder and there are several posts.

I'm done w/hijack:)

I would want...

HR Monitor
Weight Rack
My own fitness room, mirrored walls, flat screen TV and a door that locked!

Well yeah, obvoiously but that's just not in the cards unless I kick one of the kids out.
