Fitness Freak My First Post and First Question

Hi Fitness Freak,

I posted this in error on the Video & DVD Questions in Comments by mistake....obviously I'm new to this...:p

This is my first (well second) post and question...

I have been working out with Cathe for about 2 years. Since working out with 4DS I have really gotten results....so my body responds well to these type of workouts. (I come from a gene pool of apples). I've used S&H, Pure Strength, Pyramids, and Gym Styles and various cardio workouts by Cathe. I do have muscle endurance DVD's as well I just seem to respond to the heavier stuff.

I am 44 years old, 5'4", 130 lbs. I remember reading a post of yours a while back where I think you stated at one time you were "fluffy". This is the stage I'm in. I seem to have a layer of "fluff" on my arms, abs and legs. The only "cut" part of my body is my back. (I realize I may never see my abs - gene pool and all, but would love to lean up my arms and legs). I match Cathe in weights on all her workouts, even a little heavier on some of the older stuff.

I can't find your old post, so could you please share the weight/cardio rotation you used to get rid of the "fluff"?

I do eat clean with a cheat meal once or twice a week. Should my ratios be 40/30/30?

I don't have one particular rotation that has gotten rid of the "fluff". My diet is what gets ride of that nasty stuff. I cut my carbs down to under 100 g. a day when I want to cut up. I'm doing that right now. It takes about 12 weeks for me to get to where I want to be.

So right now I'm eating a ratio of 30% fat, 20-25% carbs and 40-45% proteins. Sometimes my proteins hit 50% and fat is 30 and carbs are 20. This works extremely well for me and the low carbs does not seem to bother my body or energy.

You might want to try that. I also have one day (Saturday's) where I eat whatever I want. I try to control it but it's good to get more carbs in at least once a week so I do this on Saturday.

You are kind to take the time to answer questions. You are the reason I know about the website Fitday. I have been using it and will adjust my ratios.

Because of Cathe and crew as well as learning from everyone here on the forums I am in better shape and healthier than I have ever been.
