Fit tower

I'm still surprised mine came a day early ! Over all, I like it and since I have the
First one as well, if someone presented me with both towers and said to pick
The one I wanted, I'd pick the new one! :). Peanuts, I know you are happy
Today is here, let us know how you like it!
Aqua girl, what are the biggest differences between the two towers ?

Woo hoo! Got mine this afternoon and it looks very nice - sturdy, doesn't take up too much room, and the mat/barbell clips are both well made. I also screwed up the assembly... had one of the numbered poles in upside down and couldn't figure out why the knob wouldn't go in. Didn't notice that one pole had 10, 9, 8.... and other 1, 2, 3... Duh!

Aqua girl, what are the biggest differences between the two towers ?

They are pretty much the same, the new one is about 4 in shorter & has the knobs
Instead of the pins that go thru the holes..I feel like the crossbar is more secure
On the first tower, seems that way to me, but the new tower itself seems overall
More sturdy and less wobbly. The new one has 10 holes to adjust which are
Numbered, and the first one was more holes, 17 I think , but they are not
Numbered. Of course, as mentioned, the base on the new one doesn't stick up
As far as the first one, so I guess you can slide under bed, etc.between the two,
I would have to say that I favor the new one over the first.

Thanks aquagirl for your description/comparison. I was wondering why they discontinued selling the original towers. I wanted one for a long time but they were no longer available. I hoped they would be I was so happy when I saw that they were available again but was curious if this was the same manufacturer as the original one. Was your original tower purchased by Cathe.com or did she sell them like she did this time through a third party? Do you or anyone with an original tower remember there is a significant price difference between the two?

Altus was the first mfg. I believe I read where they closed the business. Can't remember how much the previous one cost. Anyone know?

Thanks Peanuts! I know Altus made some of her other fitness products. Did you get to put your tower together yet? If so, what do you think?

Not yet. All I did yesterday was take out the mat and bands and reviewed the DVDs. Probably put the tower together tomorrow or the weekend.

Yes, Peanuts is right, Altus was the mfg, but it was originally sold from Cathe's website., that is where mine came from and was shipped from
SNM....I can't remember the preorder price, but I'm thinking right around $100., give or take a little, but.....that was all we got, just the tower,
so this price we paid for the new one, which included the 3 dvds, bands, & mat, in my opinion was a good deal, according to what the "extras"
prices are separately.

I agree aquagirl about the price. I think it is a solid, good quality product that will last a long time and the extras are a plus. I would estimate the extras are over a $50 value. DVDs, bands, bar clips.

Oh, and the Mat!! I forgot about the mat! Those aren't cheap and I think this one is good quality. I up my guesstimate of extra perks to $75!
