Just wanted to pass along the news in case anyone is interested.
Fit Day just went on sale today for 19.95 for the download saving $10.

I just downloaded mine and I am ready to give it a try.
I needed something to help me with keeping my fat/carb/and protein grams in line and of course monitor my calories! I am going to zig zag my calories as recommended in BFFM and this will definitely help to accomplish that! As soon as I get over the flu :( What a way to start out the new year. So I am going to play with meal ideas so I am ready to go!

I was inbetween this one and Calorie King which is $45 just for one year. The price helped me to try Fit Day first and the fact that you can input your recipes and it will calculate the nutritional info for you.

Happy New Year everyone! May it be successful for all of us in reaching our goals!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but SparkPeople.com is free and has all the same features as well as being able to track your exercise and calories burned. You can monitor TONS of other things like your calcium and fiber intake as well. You can also input your recipes for nutritional calculations as well as input your own food items into your "favorites" list under tracking your food. I tried FitDay before SP and I find SP MUCH easier to use (and being free helped!).

Gina,
I love FitDayPC...Have been using it for about a year and have found it extremely helpful.

Good luck reaching your goals, and I hope you feel better soon!

Oh my gosh Amy:)

Thanks so much for posting this information. I was just drinking my morning java and skimming through the posts and read yours. I thought, what the heck - I'll check it out. After all, it's Sunday and I'm just chillin out this AM anyways.;-)

What a cool site. The only downside is that I have spent my whole Sunday morning on this site:p I think this will be a teriffic tool for me. I love the way that there are tons of substitutions to the menus offered. I can't stick to most diets because I am such a picky eater and this is really flexible and easy to use. I was able to add my protein drinks and my sting cheese into the menus without any problem.:9 I can't handle a day without my string cheese:D Also, if I cheat, it will be really easy to add my cheats in and calculate my daily intake. Totally awesome!!! I think this will really make me more accountable to myself for my daily nutrition.

So....THANK YOU FOR POSTING:* :) :9

I like SparkPeople.com but the one downside is it's REALLY SLOW. I mean, it's free, so I guess that's why, but sometimes it makes me want to scream!!

Thanks Cathy!

I spent all night learning how to use the software and so far I am really excited and encouraged. I did a trial run with what I ate and it is an eye opener.

Amy - I tried Spark People, yes it is free, but it is waaaayyyy too slow for me. Not enough time to wait for all of the downloads and 20 bucks didn't seem unreasonable to me for FitDay. They do offer a 30 day money back guarantee which helped me try it out - but so far it is a keeper! However, I have had to enter a lot of my own foods into the food log, but it doesn't take too long.

Gina,
I had to plug in many of my own foods, too, but like you said, it's not that time-consuming, and once they are in, the whole thing is lickety-split quick. I think the downloaded version of FitDay gives you many more options than the online version, and plus, then you don't need to be connected to the internet to use it. It is well worth the $20. I lost 30 lbs. last year, and I credit FitDay with really helping me not only record but also analyze my eating and track my progress. Great tool! I'm glad you like it.

Cathy :)
