Fishy Bob laid to rest today....

The Siamese Fighting Fish, Bob, who lived in our department for 18 months, was laid to rest today after a brief stay at the bottom of his bowl.

Bob lived a full life, playing with his plastic shark and surviving an assasination attempt by the night shift tech.

He was lovingly flushed by his closest friends in a tasteful, bathroom service. RIP Fishy Bob.

Awww! I am sorry to hear that Robin. We have a Siamese dude here at our office. His name is Harry Callahan.

Oof, poor Bob. I had a Betta named Jaws once. He made it through 2 years of college (going back and forth from SC to MD), but finally kicked off my senior year. We held a memorial service for him in the girls' bathroom along with posting a gravestone over the stall with his name. Sorry for your department's loss! :(

Robin, I'm sorry about Bob. I love Bettas. I just lost my favorite boy a few weeks ago. His name was Stone and he was almost 4 yrs old. That's a really long life for a Betta. He was red and beautiful and actually let me pet him. :) I sound like a crazy fish lady but I get attached what can I say. Another thing I must confess is that I just don't have the heart to flush them. Don't laugh but I actually buried him (and my previous Bettas) in my gardens.

RIP Stone, Jaws and Fishy Bob

ETA: RIP Mr. Hanky

Chastity, we wanted to have a funeral pyre, but were afraid the smoke would set off the fire detectors. Also, we were worried folks would think we were having a fish fry.

LOL, oops, how disrespectful of me.

ETA: perhaps you could put a plaque on the toilet, er..um..watery grave vessel, in memoriam of dear Bob.

RIP Bob!!!

Our first betta, Bruce, made it about 6 months. I cleaned the bowl same as everytime, plopped him back in, he did a drunk swim and died!

We got a new betta last weekend, named him Boris. Boris didn't even make it 24 hrs before he went to the great flush.

I must not be cut out to be a fish mom.

Nan

My condolences. We were upset when we lost Red Fish and Blue Fish (my DD was young and Dr. Suess was the man).

Love the gravestone idea.

FIP Fishy Bob.

I'm so sorry about Bob! I'm actually on Bob #3. Years ago my daughter named our first Bob. So whenever one passes we have always bought another similar one (red) and called them Bob also, they really are friendly little fish.

Awwww Robin. Sorry about Fishy Bob...may he F.I.P.

No Bettas here but DS got some Sea Monkey's as a joke for Xmas and they don't look anything like the picture on the package:confused:
