First you grab the bar, then you pull up!!

Hey ladies. I did heavy legs yesterday. My squat is up to 90# :eek: Will need to start locking the doggies up while squatting because Bisquit thinks it's time to play ball and rolls her ball to me while in the middle of squatting x( This broke my concentration. I did 2 sets of 5 and 3 sets of 3 with the 90#. I think I could've done better if it weren't for the dogs!! I have a bit of DOMS in the lower body today suprise, suprise :+

I was supposed to do pullups today. I did 4DS BC cardio this morning with LIS abs. Planned on pulling up later and just never got around to it x(

How are you ladies doing?

Catherine-I've been more of a lurker these days - hardly posting.

I went for a bike ride the other day, stopped at a park and did a chin up. Now, I hate my bar at home x( Maybe, I can find a new spot for it - higher up.

Anyway, great job on your workouts.

Catherine-I was kind of tired last night so I just reread your post. Wow-90 pounds for legs! You are so strong. My BB is 50 pounds for legs.

Joanne, Those squats were hard :eek: But not done in great numbers. I think I did a couple of sets of 5 and then 3 sets of 3. Goal being to do 4 sets of 6. So there's a lot of work to do there!!

WTG on the chinup in the park!!! I hope you can figure out a way to make the bar at home work. That stinks x( Or else you'll just have to keep riding to the park to do your chinups :+ Don't know how that would work this winter. Well, it practically is winter isn't it!!!

I have just completed week 12 of my second round of P90X. Tony's upper body work does my body good. I've gained more lat and shoulder strength with round 2. I love it!:p

I feel a noticable difference. During Kenpo while rotating from the hip, Upper stays good and solid. I'm quicker with punch /jab /cut, etc. Also left and right arms are more equal in strength. The lower hip twist, drag and kick form improved strength and balance.

Do you eat very clean? and small portions through the day? How do you keep your body fat % low.:)? I attribute genetics to 1/2 my muscle definition- but have nowhere near your all over leaness. Mostly because I eat ALOT!:p
 
Amy that's funny, because I look at you and think you look waaaay leaner than me!! I guess it's perception huh? I haven't got a clue what my BF% is. I eat clean during the week (small portions frequently) and on the weekends it's almost a free for all :+

Oh I do love the X!! I've done 2.5 rounds. Last year had some back trouble during round 3 and never went back x( Right now I just do my own thing for wts mostly and throw in a Cathe w/o here and there. I really would like to build more muscle!! I am working on that though :)

I think I'm gonna take a nap and then I must do my w/o. Today is PS legs and I will do chinups in between leg sets. Maybe I will do abs, maybe,.....

Well, I did my w/o today and only did about 1/2 of it. I kept getting nauseated and dizzy x( I did manage chinups 7,7,5,&5. I just didn't want to push it. I had to lay down afterwards and rest. Don't know what was up????

I really need to start working harder on my pullups. I don't know why, but I prefer doing chins. Probably because they are easier and I can do more :+

Today I did heavy legs this morning. This afternoon LIS cardio with pullups during the blasts. Followed by KB abs. I did 3 sets of 3 pullups and 2 sets of 2. I just don't get it. My pullup numbers just don't seem to go anywhere x( I guess I need to do them more.

Catherine...please keep persisting. Life just gets too busy and I am a very "distant" lurker at times!! Hmmmm, chins, hmmm, okay - I did one the other day.

I FINALLY did the new workouts this past week. I'm DYING for the ones to come though!!!! Catherine...I really find the most progress when I lift heavy on my own. Amazingly I didn't have much soreness after the 4DS, but I did pause the DVD a few times. I am experiencing elbow/forearm pains lately - don't know what's up with that!! Still walking and running quite a bit.

I believe i'll try for a few sets of chins/pulls tonight. You guys are motivating me.

Hey...welcome to AmyX - stick around and do some chins!!!! You look incredibly lean to me!!! Both of you.

Joanne....go home and throw out your bar - it's cursed. Burn it. Hang out at the park more often! I'm SO proud of you!!! Hey...try pulling yourself up between the monkey bars with your palms facing each other. I LOVE this hold!! (it's the easiest way for me ;-) ;-) )

Hey Briee!!! It's good to hear from ya!! Sorry that your elbow is troubling ya. Heavy lifting can tend to put stress on the tendons, so be careful. You must report back on those chins later ;)

I agree, I seem to make better progress with wts on my own. I am doing my own 4DS. I do 1 heavy upper, 1 heavy lower then one light-mod wt, higher rep lower and upper body. For the heavy workouts I do my own thing. For the ligher-mod wt I have been alternating P90X legs and back and PS legs. Then for the other upper body I've been doing 4DS upper body premix :eek: My goal with the heavy w/o is to do 4-5 sets of 5-6 reps. And try to either increase my reps or my wts each week. It seems to be working pretty well overall. Of course I throw some cardio in there too :D

Joanne, I think Briee is on to something about your bar honey!! You are there and that's so awesome!!!!! Hang from a tree, do anything :+ Oh, I just realized Soooooooooooooosan, won't be speaking to you anymore :7
