first work out

I am wanting to get a work out and I like them all so much. Which one would be a good one to start with. I don't want one of the beginer ones only because I might be over weight but I can get through the harder workouts...with lots of panting of course. I rather push myself with light weight and get a harder work out then start off easy. I am doing The Firm now. Thanks so much

I have posted this same ? recently and am also a fellow Firmy. If you are trying to "lean out", the fellow posters suggested: Muscle Intensity Strength (MIS), Low Max, Leaner Legs and Gym Style Legs. Of course we can't forget clean eating. HTH:D

Just a note, when doing any aerobics workout you should be able to say 3 words for every breath, it should be a bit of a challenge to get those 3 words out, but do able. If your panting so much that you can't, you're working your heart and lungs too hard and can cause damage. So you always want to gear your workouts to be able to repeat 3 words of whatever Cathe says. There your working some where between 75-85% of your max heart rate. Which is great for fat burning and burning calories. I know we all can do harder workouts then this, but the cost of doing them is quite high if we do them again and again. And you actually lose some fat burning ability if you do a workout over your 85% max heart rate. If you don't want to waste money, you can always buy a harder tape and modify it so your in the right range, and then do the harder moves when your body says okay this isn't tough anymore.

HTH,

Kit

Thank you for the advice. I used to be workout monster so now that I am heavy I am sure I don't do what I should because I go back to my old ways when I was thin. I will make sure to keep this in mind. You all are so helpful

shortsarah,

We all do this; we all fall back to when we could do this or that, despite our present condition. Remember you can get that body to where it use to be amd even better then it use to be. So keep on working just try to keep it at a pace to body can handle.

Well, my thought is that you'll want to get something FUN for your first Cathe workout. I think that Step Blast is the most fun of the cardio workouts. Rhythmic Step is too. And neither is too-too difficult. Definitely more difficult than The Firm, though. But it will only take you a few times through before it's not hard.

I personally wouldn't get a beginner or intermediate workout, unless you've never worked out. You progress so rapidly that they soon become obsolete in your collection.

As far as weight workouts...and one of them would be OK, as long as you keep your weights light. Maybe not Gym Style, because the bands are kind of intense. But then again, you can use the lighter resistance ones. So...any one of the weight ones is good. And they're ALL fun.
