First Time Grandma

My first Grandchild was born yesterday. Abigail Katlyn 6 lbs. 9 oz. 19 inches long. What a thrill! Child and mother are doing well. I am a rather young grandmother (39) but it was kind of funny because after all settled down last night first thing I did when I got home is put in Legs and Glutes, I had a wonderful workout and thought I want to be a cool grandmother that takes care of herself and has strenght and small thighs and is in better shape as a grandmother than when I was in my 20's, Thanks to Cathe. I was wondering how many other Grandmothers workout to Cathe as well?

Hi Sherry,

Congratulations!

I was a grandmother at 41. My grand-daughter, Hailie, just turned 8 years old. She is such a joy!

I've also enjoyed watching my daughter grow into a wonderful mother. I was a little worried about that cause she was never one to play with dolls or gloat over other babies but she really surprised me. She and my son-in-law dote over their daughter. Don't get me wrong, they've had there share of problems (like we all do) but they always put her first. Makes me very proud.

COngrats!!!!!
I am thinking that I may be a young grandmother as well.If she has any children at all.I will be 35 when she goes to collage so you never know.I may not be as young as you are,but probably not much off.
Have fun with your new baby.

Congratulations! The first time you hear her say "grandma", you will be putty in her hands! I'm another grandma who wants to be the fittest and coolest grandma ever!

Enjoy!

Congratulations! I have been thinking about grandbabies since the day my first child was born. I love the babies and I thought ... mine will grow up so fast but hopefully there will be grandbabies to cuddle someday. I had my first at 35 and my second at 37, so I won't be a young grandmother. If they follow thier mothers example I could be pushin 80 before I get one :( Love that baby up :)

http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/love/ylinfant.gif[/img] Congratulations Sherry! You are in for the time of your life! We have number two on the way! Our first granddaughter will be three in June. I was 48 when she was born and also felt I was in the best shape of my life, thanks to Cathe and Hi/Lo classes I teach. I always felt something was "missing" til I found Cathe.com. Sounds to me like you are going to be the coolest Grandma. Keep up the good job and just you wait, every new thing Abigail does will put the biggest smile on your face. Have FUN!!! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/love/ylinfant.gif[/img]

Congratulations Sherry!!! Little Abigail is a lucky little girl, think of all the wonderful times you will both share - I know - I was a very young grandma - 35! My granddaughter Christine will be 17 in September - ouch!!! Not to mention that grandbaby number 6 is due in July - and they have a healthy grandma! Embrace this wonderful time. Funny how grandmothers today are not like our grandmothers - I can imagine my mother - she would tell me - you don't need to exercise - men exercise - OMG!!! LOL.

Felicitaciones Sherry - you'll be a great Nana.

Take care,

Iris

Congratulations!!

I think it's great that you're young and healthy enough to enjoy her and spoil her like crazy! How lucky for her!

Congratulations!! Enjoy that baby. I'm sitting here with my 4 month old baby in my lap as I type. She is my 4th. Babies are wonderful :)

Congrats Sherry,
I have 5 grandchildren and have been working out since long before any of them came along. I have taken care of them while there parents work so they have grown up watching me workout and working out with me. I have extra stability balls that they like to play on. Grandchildren are the best. I remember the first one. We had to drive to N Carolina from Oklahoma to see her. I had such a big lump in my throat when I saw my daughter holding her 4 day old daughter. Fortunately they moved back here 6 months later. I know Cathe has given me so much energy. Enjoy.

That is wonderful! I just think that is so neat that you workout with them, they will want to continue to be fit and always remember how much fun it is to workout. I have had the incredible urge daily to purchase something for this little sweetie, I had boys so the pink frilly dresses and bassinets are just calling my name. I bet all of you ladies are just the coolest grammas around. Thanks for sharing in my excitement!
