First appointment over-whew!

Yesterday was my first appointment. One hour with the nurse where I learned a lot then I met the doctor. My regular doctor recommended her and I am so glad because I just love her. I had the physical exam and she said all the signs were great. I then had a vaginal ultrasound (not expecting that) and got to see the little one! The sac is bigger than the baby for now and we could not hear the heartbeat but I could see it. How reassuring!

My DH was upset that he did not come but I was told I would not have an ultrasound. I am officially 6 weeks and 4 days and due November 4th. I just hope that is not the day-it is my Grandma's birthday and she just died this past December. My other Granny died in February so neither of them got to know about this. Hope they are checking it all out in Heaven.

Next appointment is in 4 weeks and DH will go. Can't wait! They also gave me a huge bag with samples, books and pamphlets. I have a lot of reading to do tonight!

Ok-so now how the heck do I get my ticker here? I went to lilypie but do not know where to put it here to make it show up. Is that easy to explain to a tech-idiot?
 
Glad to hear the appointment went well. It's so reassuring to actually hear the doctor confirm that you are pregnant no matter how many HTP's one takes prior to that! LOL I think I took like 3 tests and STILL couldn't wait to get the doc's verification!

Great news, Leighann! Why did they do the u/s? Was there some doubt about conception date? That's so unfortunate that your husband missed it!

Keep us posted on how you're feeling. The first trimester can be such a roller coaster!

Glad everything went well for you at the Dr.'s.. :) My 1st one isn't until April 8th, and that's with the nurse only. I don't see the doc until April 18th. This is one of my milestones. It had to be very reassuring for you to see a heartbeat, hope everything continues well for you.

As for the ticker, I just did mine today.
cut the url from lilypie.com and paste it in your signature box in your profile. hope that helps.:)
 
I am wondering myself why she did it. I am beginning to worry now. I had mentioned to her that my breasts were not growing or tender. She asked if I have been going potty more often and if I have been sick to my stomach and I said just recently. But I know the exact day I conceived.

I hope nothing in the exam made her think something was wrong. She said my cervix was the right color and she could feel that my uterus was large but I don't know. Maybe I was the last appt. of the day and she just felt like doing another ultrasound.

Now I am going to be nervous until April 11th.
 
Good luck at your appointment. The nurse meeting went really well but it was nice to see the doctor too. There are a lot of milestones now, aren't there?

Ok, let's see if the ticker works.
 
Oh Leighann I didn't mean to alarm you by asking my question! I'm sure that if there was anything wrong she would have told you immediately! And you know, if it's really worrying you, you can always call your doctor and ask her; no need to stress for the next four weeks.

Anything that is not underlined in your ticker url should be able to be removed and then try it again. You don't actually need that entire blurb and part of it causes the ticker not to come up as you can see. You are not a tech idiot. We all had the same problem!!:)

BTW-If it makes you feel any better, my first U/S was early too...if I remember correctly, I had my first doc appt at 5 wks and my first u/s at about 7 wks. It doesn't neccessarily mean anything is wrong...maybe the doc just had time so figured she'd do it right away.

Is this your first pregnancy?

My first pregnancy I didn't even know I was pg until I missed my second period, so 8 weeks along. I didn't notice any signs, other than I was a tad emotional. This pregnancy, I'm at week six and ALREADY my boobs are way noticably fuller and bigger. I wouldn;t be surprised at all if they are a full size bigger by the end of this trimester. My DH remarked, geez I don't remember this in the first pregnancy! So maybe that's the case for you too? Don't get stressed. If they didn't give you a reason to be stress then don't, no need to add more than you need! :)
 
Sandra - don't worry, you did not worry me anymore than I already was! I worry about everything anyway :) I do think that since I was the last appointment, she might have just decided to go ahead and do it.

Julie - yep, it is my first (and only) pregnancy. DH did mention last night that he notices a change so maybe I can not tell since I see them everyday :)
 
Thanks Wendy, that does make me feel better. Wow, you are really close! Only 64 days to go.
