Thanks for all the nice words. I am super sore today, and I look back on yesterday with disbelief -- Wow, I can't believe I did that! I posted more details on my blog.
The hardest part were miles 20-23 -- we went through a very hilly neighborhood. Every time I turned a corner thinking I had made it up the last one, there was another one. A lot of people were stopping to walk here -- and I knew if I started to walk, I would never get back to running again, so I just put my game face on and ran on. At mile 23 we started going downhill and I got the beautiful view of the bay -- and I knew I was going to finish this thing! There was a clock at the water station -- it said 10:56am (I started at 7:30). I got all excited because I knew I was going to be close to a 4 hour marathon. I couldn't believe it! The rest of the run was lovely! The weather was beautiful and I saw a lot of people I knew on the course and they cheered me on. I definitely want to do this again someday!
We went out for Mexican food afterwards! MMMMmmmmmm!
Good luck runners on your upcoming races!!!!

AWESOME TIME!!!! My first marathon didn't go quite that well, but no matter the time...crossing the finish line is something you will never forget. Isn't it amazing what your body and mind can do?!?
Congrats and wear the shirt and medal for a week!!! (just wash it at night like one does for a 5 year old )
Enjoy the final week of your training (jog a few days and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment!!!)
