I did my 1st 5k today. Came in at 30:53, right in the middle of the pack. I was hoping for under 30 mins, but we were all kinda jumbled up at the beginning, so it took a bit to get to an actual run. But I'm happy Not fast, but not last. The guy who won was 17 mins. Holy smokin' sneakers!! Most of the run was through a forest preserve, but it was kinda muggy this morning, and even more so under all the shade. Makes breathing a little more difficult, and I like to breathe! It was fun, though. Now I have the itch to sign up for another. The arboretum has one in Oct that may be fun, and pretty too. There's also an 8k in town in a couple weeks that could be fun, but I think it starts at 5:30 in the morning. I DON'T start at 5:30 in the morning. Thanks to all my Cathe friends here, who pushed me into registering for this, it was fun!!!
I think Ms Lee's 1st one is today too. Good luck Michele!!!

ETA: I forgot the best (for me) part. There were 3 high school girls sports teams there, one was volleyball, bot sure what the others were. I ended up passing them!!! The had to stop and walk. It is so not nice of me to think that, but those were the girls I couldn't stand in HS when I was all fat and lumpy and dumpy. Not nice I know, but it made me feel good that I ran the whole thing and they didn't . There were some young kids there (9 or 10 yrs old0 that were FAST, though. I'm impressed
