Fellow Dallas Area Roadtrippers. Did you make it home?

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you all know I did finally get of the Philly Airport. I was able to get on the 6:28pm flight which was delayed until 8:15. And made it to Dallas at about 11:35. Those of you on flight 1087 did you guys get out? Your plane loaded, but hadn't left the gate when we loaded the plane I was on. I've never seen so many planes delayed before.

I had so much fun this weekend and loved meeting everyone. What a grand experience.

I'm off to do Rhythic Step. I want to keep the momentum of the weekend going.

Wow!! Are you the Bionic Woman?? Today's my rest day! Way to go, girl!

We were delayed in Philly as well for about an hour - something about a lightning strike. Then we sat on the runway at O'Hare for another hour before they let us off the plane. VERY LONG DAY!!! Glad you made it home OK.

Gosh, I Am SOOOOO jealous that you got home!!!!! Jean, our flight got cancelled approx 2 hours later after sitting on the runway forever. The next one they were willing to put us wouldn't have gotten home until 5:00 pm today, so we rented a car, drove to Baltimore, stayed 4 hours in a hotel in Balt., then flew home at 7:00 this morning and just got home now at 10:00 am. Home now, very, very tired!!
Glad you got home okay. Edited to say I REALLY enjoyed meeting EVERYONE!!!

Oh that was a nightmare!!! Sitting on a plane for hours breathing stale air just to have them cancel the flight really sucks!

Thanks again to Amy B & her very patient & funny husband for putting up with all these hassles for his wife's Roadtrip. How cool is that?

We were glad you came with us. :) Marla, After waiting in line to meet you... ;)...I did finally get my turn, didn't I? Can you believe that Jean's flight actually left???? Oh well, we are safely home and we did get some good entertainment from Tim. I will have to say that I am very thankful for my DH's a sense of humor. :D

Oh, my! Talk about serious delays. Were they all weather related?

Sorry some of you had such a long ride home. Amy, I know you were already exhausted. Hopefully you'll get to sleep in today :)
 
Holy CRAP, what a return trip!x(

Jeannie, I'm envious. You actually made it home last night. And you were on standby.:p

I got home at around 10 this morning. Called Shonie to make sure she made it home okay. She did.

Amy and Marla, I'm glad you made it home as well.

I was so aching to just get HERE. I promised to tuck Andrew in Sunday night. That I wasn't able to do that was so WRONG.

But I'm proud of my boys. When I got home, the house smelled GOOD. Everything was clean. The LAUNDRY was done. There was food in the fridge. Man, I should leave home more often.:p

I'll post pictures later in the week.

LOL! Seems like you got them trained well! What did Andrew say about his Cathe-autographed pic? Was he proud for sharing his mom with Cathe?

:7 Marla, that was the FIRST thing Andrew asked for when he saw me at the airport. He just smiled when he saw Cathe's autograph. I still need to get my film developed. He'll freak out when he sees the picture of me and Cathe. I hope that turns out well.

Something has to turn out well after the return trip fiasco, right?;-)

No kidding! All in all, it was worth it. Also, that's a healthy appreciation for health that you are teaching your son.

PInky: my man did good too! when i got home, Jay had cleaned the house, washed his clothes and had me a bubble bath run and a glass of wine all ready. Then he sat on the floor next to the tub and scrolled through my pics and let me tell hin in detail about each one and all of the crazy stories we had. he is so great! i am so lucky and like the rest of you i am very glad to be home!!!

Oh my gosh. I am so sorry you gals and guy had to go through that. I figured once they cleared us from the lightening, your plane would be right behind. When I got to DFW I checked the arrival boards and it didn't show your flight, so I wondered if you made it in. That's terrible. At least you had clean houses to come home to. Mine had dishes in the sink and laundry that needed to be folded. I guess that's what I get for making it home, while you had to suffer.

I enjoyed meeting all of you so much. What a great group of ladies. Hopefully since we are all in the area, we can keep in touch.

Jean, the funny thing is, right after we deplaned, the airport came alive again. The ground crew went back to work, and flights were being boarded.

Also, even when the pilot said the ramp was closed, I could SEE and hear other planes taking off. How crazy is that?

You guys must have been getting off the plane at the same time we were getting on. Because once the ramp opened, they boarded our whole plane in like 10 minutes (record time). As for the ramp being closed, I think that is more for the safety of the people on the ground and the fuel trucks etc. Did your flight get canceled due to mechanical reason? Because obviously it could not just have been the storms since other flights did leave.

No, apparently, flight attendants can't be on board more than X amount of hours so when we were delayed, they ran into X amount of hours so they were clocking out & had to be let go. Hmmmm. Now, how many hours do doctors work on call? That's right, I remember. And they are saving lives, right? I guess bringing refreshments to other passengers entails alot more "skills".

Hi, Allison-
NO sleeping for me! YET! Flew in this morning and hosted my MIL's 70th birthday party tonight w/ over 100 guests!!! I still haven't slept, but I'm about to hit the sack. Just sitting here by my daughter until she falls asleep. :) I know I'll sleep like a rock tonight. I cannot even think straight AT ALL. :p
