Favorite workout post-sickness?

I just finished being sick (with a bad cold/cough/laryngitis) and not working out for a week. I pulled out High Step Challenge this morning and attempted the 51 minute timesaver premix. I finished it, but skipped a few reps here and there because I was just plain wiped out. I was laughing at myself afterward thinking that HSC timesaver would be semi-easy! Do any of you have a favorite workout that helps you jump back on that wagon after taking a long rest period?

Yes! I do either Basic Step or Body Fusion. I ease back in super easy because I know my stamina isn't there yet and my body is just tired. These workouts are great because I don't have to *think* so much, they still make me break a light sweat, and help me get ready for my usual workouts in a couple of days/week. :)

Glad you are feeling better. My preference for starting back is a walk/jog on the treadmill or elliptical. This way I'm not competing with the exercisers in the dvd which can lead to frustration if I'm struggling. Kind of a mind game but it keeps me sane until I can rebuild my cardio capacity.

Cardio coach volume 1 or 2, for cardio. Something with light weights, or just body weights to build my strength back.

Glad you are feeling better!!!

I like to do an intermediate workout that I can increase the intensity on, instead of having to modify down becasue of my post-illness condition. It's more encouraging for me that way (even a Leslie Sansone walking workout, where you can take the side steps to 'speed skaters' and jog on some of the forward-back walks).

I agree with Katie, C&W is a good one. Or I do just a simple step workout without intervals- one of Gin Miller's or something like that. I don't jump or do any power and that usually helps me feel better. :)

Another vote for Basic Step/Body Fusion! I was out for 2 weeks with the flu and these workouts were perfect to get me going again!! It was just enough to break a sweat, yet not kill me while building my strength/stamina back.

Thanks for all the replies/suggestions. I don't know what I was thinking trying HSC. I think I was just feeling so yucky after being sick and not working out that I wanted something to really get me going. It's been a while since I've been sick (luckily), so I forgot how much it can really zap you of your energy. Hope everyone has a happy holiday!!

LIC! It's one of her intermediate workouts and I like that it's not a huge amount of equipment--just a barbell and one set of dumbbells plus the step. I find the music motivating as well.

I have been off since Dec. 5th.

Exhausted from taking care of sick Dad and then getting a whopping cold. I eased back into a workout today with a PX90 disc - CardioX. It was perfect ~ little yoga, little kickbox, little plyo and core plus warmup and stretch.
