Favorite Premixes?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some of your favorite premixes as I work my way back into full workouts. I have a 3 year old daughter and 11 month old twins, so my time is limited right now. What I need to know is which premixes could I use with little prep time (not alot of equipment to get out, etc.) to get a great workout. My main focus is the cardio portions, but I will also try to incorporate arms/legs/abs. I think I'd do the cardio first, then tack on weights if time permits.

I have all of Cathe's workouts, but I am not familiar with any of the newer ones (Intensity, Body Blast, Hardcore) because I've been pregnant or caring for infants for the past 2 years basically. I really need your input, please. I just want to know what any of you have used and like when you can't do a full workout. Which ones don't you like (if any!!). I was looking at High Step premixes and like the looks of the Cardio with upper body premix. Anything under 45 minutes seems doable. I know doing anything is better than none, but I want to work out with Cathe and no other! (More bang for my buck, ya know?) BTW, I've kind of done CTX for my workouts ALOT, so I'm looking for some other suggestions.

Thanks,
Tricia

KPC/Legs and Glutes has some great premixes as does Step Jump and Pump/Step blast. BootCamp/ME does as well - I'm listing the ones I think will give you the best total body. IMax 2 and C&W is another one. KPC and IMax 2 are considered two of her most fun, by the way - so they would be good purchases anyway.

Hi Tricia, I know what you mean about finding time to workout. About a week ago I posted a Comprehensive list of all of Cathe's workouts and their premixes. Here is the link:
http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?..._id=231696&mesg_id=231696&listing_type=search

I have it on Word which has colored headlines which is much easier to read. If you or anyone else would like the word version please email me at [email protected] and I'd be happy to send it to you.

You'll notice that the BodyBlast series has the most premixes and they are all fantastic and vary greatly in length.

Hope that helps,

Hi, I love the premixes and rarely get/make time to do a full length workout. I have 2 kids under the age of 3 and it is hard to devote more than 45/50 min. I love the Body Blast Series bec of the workout blender. You can just select which chapters you want to do and hit start. It creates your own tailored workout if you are short on time or want to target a certain body part. Imax 2 and 3 are great too, bec you can start it and stop whenever you want. Or you can do the premixs, which are great and not too long. The Intensity series is a great!

Do you have the Timesaver DVD? It is a compilation of the Body Blast series and are 5 workouts ranging from 38 to 48 minutes. Four of the workouts are cardio with a focus on upper body (similar to the CTX series) and the fifth workout is a lower body workout. These workouts are great if you are short on time.

Also, I really love the premixes on the KickMax DVD.

Definitely check out the link in a post listed above as she has provided an awesome breakdown of the premixes, including how long they are.

Hi all,

Yes I do have the Timesaver, I'm going to be doing alot of previewing (or should I say RE-Viewing...) of these workouts. I did some of Kickmax yesterday and used the High Step training premix of cardio and upper body the day before. I feel very accomplished, as Cathe would say - because I've started. With your suggestions here, I will have some places to look so I can stay motivated.

It's so frustrating to have all of these new workouts and not have the knowledge of what they contain. So your help is really appreciated to give me a place to start. I'll be doing some viewing today while I feed the babies!

Thanks everyone,
Tricia

I don't know if you have the basic step DVD, but the upper and lower body add-ons are pretty good and only 20 minutes each. You do have to add a warm up though. The abs add-on is 10 minutes - also very good.

Another Question...

I'm wondering what you ladies(or you, too Trevor!) would suggest in regards to my first round of rotation. As I said, I'm just getting back to my workouts after what I'm calling my baby hiatus, and I'm amazed at the absolute lack of tone and muscle that I'm experiencing. Kickmax nearly did me in! So, to get toned up, would I do better to use PP/SS as a starter weight workout or do you think circuits like Bootcamp or Cardio & Weights would be better?

Thanks,
Tricia
