favorite premix on 4DS

I received my 4DS this weekend, however was disappointed especially with bootcamp. Am I missing something? What are your favorite pre-mixes or workouts?

My favorite premix is the total body one. It is long, but after doing this workout for several weeks I was able to lift heavier for some exercises than I ever had before.

Why did you find Bootcamp disappointing?

my favorite is the double step or double cardio whatever its called where you do LIS and this HIS. I find it fun and I love how many calories I burned.

My absolute faves are the Upper body premix and the "Double Cardio" which combines the KB and BC cardios. KILLER! I love, love, love 4DS!!

I thought it would be more like a circuit workout similar to drill max. I like to step but the moves were a little advanced for me. It would be nice if cathe would do the move slow a few times before she just jumps in the routine, while you're standing there scratching your head.

I think I'll look at all the combos and find my favorite one. There is a bootcamp that comes on fit tv where she incorporates weights/cardio. That's the one I wanted. Although, I did do the cardio/bi's/tri's which gave me a pretty good workout.

That is a valid point. I think you'll notice in the future though, that if she were to break down the drills the workout would a.) be longer than 30 minutes (and the point of 4DS is that all the w/o's are only 30 minutes) and b.) you would be incredibly bored once you've done the dvd more than a few times and know how to do the drills.

I've done 4DS BC so many times that I could tell you right now every drill that Cathe does in that workout and what order they're in. If she were to break it down it would take away from intensity and time factors. Just a thought. :)

ETA: You're right that the BC workout is NOT a circuit like Cathe's original Bootcamp from the Intensity Series. But the 4DS dvd does have circuit premixes that utilize the BC drills with other weight segments. You might like that. :)

It went way too fast for me at first too but you get it eventually and then it becomes pretty fun! It is frustrating when you keep missing cues, but keep at it. The result is worth it. :)

Oh, and I really like the upper body premixes. Tremendous visible difference after a few weeks of doing each 1 time per week.

Thanks for the advise. I plan to keep at it. I really like step, but I haven't done step since it first came out years ago, and the moves they do now are so complicated.

When I first got 4DS I expected bootcamp to be like the other Bootcamp also. But I love it, it is so much fun!! My favorite pre-mix is the bootcamp intervals, it breaks it up nicely.

My favorite way to do this workout is to make my own circuit. I start with 3 or 4 drills then just skip over to the first set of tris/bis, then jump back and do the next few drills, then back to a set of tris/bis. Your DVD player should make this easy to do. I save the last drill to do all by itself since I find it the most challenging of the workout. Anyway, thought I'd mention this as I find it a more fun way to do this workout.
