Favorite Penance Workouts?

Did anyone else do a workout today to pay penance for unclean eating or overeating yesterday? I considered Bootcamp, but decided on MIC. That's a new one for me. Today was the first time doing it. Wow! That one worked off a few calories!

How are you paying for yesterday?

I don't really like to call them penance workouts, because a) that makes them sound like a punishment and workouts are NEVER a punishment IMO and b) overeating occasionally isn't a sin;)

But.... I would have to say that an A-Jock mish-mosh, a long run or one of the Terminators would do it for me. And yes. MIC is killah!:)

I'm about to do a "mini-marathon" of sorts. 30 min. run, followed by PLB and then PUB.

Hopefully some of yesterday's "sins" will be forgiven after this workout...}(

I 'prepaid' penance yesterday morning with the 90 cardio premix from SJP and Stepblast - all on 8" step. My calves and thighs are a little sore today.

Well I knew I should have put a disclaimer in my original post. No, I don't feel guilty for eating too much or the wrong thing on occassion, and I don't consider a hard workout punishment. In my case I just need a real hard cardio session after days like that to get rid of that puffy feeling and extra fluid. One tough workout seems to help get rid of that extra water, in addition to drinking lots of water the next day.

Just wondered if anyone else did the same. I should have explained myself better!

I wasn't really that bad yesterday but I did have a couple of pieces of pie. I did an oldie but goodie today - Step Heat. I love that workout. But to prime me for yesterday I did the 90 minute SB/SJP premix like Debbie did today. I decided to deplete then eat!

I agree with Ms. Limecat's opinion of penance workouts - I look at working out extra hard on wild eating weeks as damage control. Since I know the equation is "calories in, calories out," I must do extra cardio during weeks like this when I have 2 pig-out days. Today I did BodyMax cardio, Imax 3 step portion, HSTA & HSC cardio. Tomorrow I'll do something similar, and Sunday (my gotta get a break from step day) I'll do a big walk.
Just Do It! :)

I ate pretty well (quantity wise) for the dinner, but dessert, can you say pie, pie, pie, cheesecake, more pie? It was all good and my favorite holiday too! No guilt here at all.

Today I did a Spinerval, "Enter The Red Zone", got my heart rate up higher than normal on the intervals. Coach Troy just motivates me to go, go, go! I picture myself at the Tour De France, sprinting for the win!!! If this doesn't help my spring cycling, I don't know what will.

HI! I tried to do the 90 minute Step Blast/SJP premix, but the DVD seemed to get stuck after the first hi-lo section and went into the tail end of the first combination from Step Blast. This isn't right, is it? I just went with it and finished up SPte Blast and then went back and did all the hi lo from SJP. I figured that should have been part of the 90 minute premix. Am I right? Maybe my DVD is busted? I've had it for probably about a year, but never did this premix until this morning.

Thanks,
Jane

P S It was still a great workout! I needed it!

Yesterday...late in the day...I did the Interval cardio workout from HC Extreme...the one that alternates a Low Max segment with two Imax 3 segments and ends with the blasts from KM. Well, I made it through the first 3 blasts from KM and had to quit. I was sooooo tired....I just couldn't finish. I got in some awesome workouts this week though so I didn't feel too bad.

Earners or Burners?

The LA Times had a cute article on Friday. They divided Thanksgiving exercisers into "earners" & "burners". The earners were out before their feast & the burners were out post feast.

I'm an earner. DH & I have a hiking ritual on Thanksgiving & this year was no different. Lots of people on the trail with us. I did wonder about the father & daughter we saw on the trail with Turkey Trot t-shirts - did they do both?

Yesterday was just my usual Friday workout. I didn't feel guilty, puffy, or otherwise uncomfortable from Thanksgiving.

RE: Earners or Burners?

Ooh goodie on that LA Times article I'm an Earner! Sounds great. Maybe the turkey trot tees were from last year? I saw a bunch of people out on the trails, too, and on the roads. I wanted to honk and shout "Happy Thanksgiving" to all of them. But I hate when people honk when I'm running, so I didn't. :)

I skipped my workout yesterday, which is so unusual, but I figured it was best for me to rest (fell on Thurs run). I ate like a mess Thurs and Fri, so I've been feeling icky all day today.

I did HS Challenge, skipping abs and stretch, then Kick Max warmup through combo 4, skipped blast and all after that, then Core Max 1, then Stretch Max 3.

I'm hungry, but starting to feel like myself again!:D

RE: Earners or Burners?

To compensate for a little overeating last night, I did my usual w/o that is on the rotation today, Bootcamp and then had to throw in the KM leg drills I missed yesterday and then added on the KM Blast Challenge. My legs are jello now but I feel better!
