Fat loss?

Cathlete
I recently had a body composition analysis done, and body fat is right around 25%. I would like to get to somewhere around 21%. Other info is 5 feet 5 tall, 129/131 pounds. Any suggestions? This is an increase from 123 lbs last fall. I am trying to eat clean, but have some "issues" (LOL) with chocolate and wine.

I have these Cathe DVD's:
Body Max 2
Butts & Gutts
Low Max
Muscle Max
KPC/Legs & Glutes
Timesaver
4 Day Split
Cardio & Weights
Low Impact Step/Total Body Sculpting
Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance

I will post this on the Video/DVD rotations forum as well.

Many thanks Cathe!

All of the Cathe workouts you have are awesome, and will work fantastic. That being said, none of them will work in combination with a bad diet. It's true what we've all heard (and probably said) many times - You can't out-work a bad diet.

If you start eating really, really clean (no chocolate or wine), you'll start to see results. I'd suggest you check out Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet book (it's not really a diet, but a way of eating). Start following Cooler 2 (it will make sense after you read the book). Follow it strictly, no cheating, and I promise you'll see results. Unfortunately, what most of think of as "clean eating" is anything but. And, even thought the book suggests not doing it, you've got to log your calories. You have to know what and how much you're eating.

Give it a go, and keep us posted.

I think you can see major changes and results without total deprivation. You can have anything you want, including wine and chocolate, as long as you have less of it than you have been previously. The way I saw results was by halving my portions of desserts (I don't drink much, so this was never a problem). Have half a glass of wine, half a chocolate bar, or whatever... and you will see results. I think 100% clean eating is a wonderful ideal, but it is not practical for many of us, and imho, it isn't really even necessary.

Hi, just based on the info you listed, as far as calories go, Your basal metabolic rate is around 1200 calories per day. Your total energy requirements are around 1500 calories per day given you are working out for around an hour three days per week. Zig Zag your calories so that on the days you work out or are more active, you would eat more calories, and on the off days or rest days you would eat a bit less, although you don't ever want to go lower than 1200. I agree Tosca Reno's book is good. Also, check out Gillian McKeith's "You Are What You Eat!" That will really make you want to eat clean!
Good for you making strides in the right direction. Save the chocolate and wine for a just once a week reward for clean eating if you can.:)

the thing with the wine

Is that alcohol tends to make it a lot harder to lose weight. If you must splurge, have the chocolate and make it as dark as you can stand it.
