Ok, here's the problem, help me solve it!
I am currently working on fat loss using Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle and the 3 month rotation Cathe posted a year ago involving 5-6 days cardio and weight training using S&H and PS.
I know that you can't really build muscle and burn fat at the same time, so the weight training is to preserve muscle while trying to lose body fat. I also know that an effective dietary strategy for muscle is to eat simple carbs (like fruit) with protein after weight training so the insulin spike pulls protein into the cells.
But, on BFFM you are supposed to taper carbs, so that you don't eat starchy foods at your last meal (your last meal would be something like salad with oil/vinegar dressing and chicken). My last meal frequently follows my weight training (I do cardio in the morning - if I put weights first, cardio Ain't happenin). If I don't eat carbs after my weight training, is the effect of the training lost (or attenuated)?
