Fat Free September

Hi ladies! I weighed in this morning and I'm up about 3 pounds. All my measurements are the same except my waist is a tad larger. I'm going to stay the course as I'm eating more, barely ever hungry and in better spirits than when trying to do lower calories. I think if I keep challenging myself with weights my muscles will eventually grow and help get rid of the fat.

Today was xtrain legs and I was on my feet most of the day. I think I'll be feeling it tomorrow.

Tina I'm excited for you & xtrain weight work. I'm enjoying the burn sets more than the other. I keep thinking I should throw on a 100 rep challenge at the end of a workout but I get fried and haven't added anything on!

Diana I hope you're having a good weekend. Congrats on your continued weight loss! Have you made a final decision on the next triathlon?

I have a pretty busy week coming up so not sure how much I can check in... I'm thinking about you girls though :)

Hi ladies,

I had a wonderful Birthday weekend! DS1 surprised me by flying in Amanda (girls mom) and my darling granddaughters! I had no idea. Then we had a surprise birthday party for my MIL on Sat the 31st....she was totally surprised when her darling great granddaughters ran up to her.

Sunday was my birthday...Amanda & I started the day with a 6 mile run, in the afternoon I made cookies with the girls....then we took the whole family out to dinner. It was a wonderful day.

Amanda & the girls had to fly out early Monday morning...after our goodbye's I went back to bed for a bit. I did manage Xtrain CSB and Core #1, and today I ran four miles and did Xtrain Bi's & Tri's & core #2.

Happy (belated) birthday Diana! Your weekend sounds lovely, what a thoughtful family you have :). I did bis/tris today too, it was quite an accomplishment because I steam cleaned every carpet in my house over the weekend and my forearms are killing me! Nice job on core 2, that's what I call torture!

Tina how are you doing? I imagine you're busy with back to school & work but I know you're fitting in your workouts :)

Have a great Wednesday ladies :)

Good morning! Thanks for starting a new thread Sue. Happy birthday Diana! Sounds like a dream celebration, what a thoughtful family you have! We're all on the Xtrain this week. I did CLB yesterday and this morning I have CB&S and SC planned. I forgot how awesome the warm-ups are on these workouts. Sound like only a few more weeks, and the new workouts should be arriving!!

Hola :). This short week will not end soon enough! I usually don't wish my life away by praying for the weekend to hurry but I'm having a rough week. Yesterday was legs premix 7 with rear delts, today is my rest day. I'm proud of myself for sticking to the rotation even though I'm short on time. Gota run will do personals tomorrow :)

Hi Ladies,

After the wonderful weekend I had, I was unexpectedly down 2.4lbs at my weigh in.:D Not sure how that happened with all the festivities, but I'll take it.

This morning is a 4 mile run and I'll probably have time to do Burn Sets for 1 body part. Not sure what that will be yet, but am leaning towards biceps...my weakest link.

Sue-Keep up the good work. Sorry for the rough week you are having. Come on weekend...only 2 days to go. Yay for clean carpets...feels good to have a clean house. I need to work on that.

Tina-so are you back to the teacher/student mode now? Do you follow your districts guidelines/days off, vacations etc.? I'm looking forward to the new workouts too. Not sure when I will fit them in with my running schedule, but I can guarantee they won't be sitting on the shelf for too long.

Yesterday was XT Legs, extreme premix. Today was XT Bi's and Tri's and Core 1. Hopefully we can squeeze some long bike rides in this weekend.

Diana, congrats on your continued weight loss, that's fantastic! : )

Sue, I loved that rear delt portion on Legs, I don't think I've done them before yesterday. I'm really enjoying Xtrain this time through!

I'm back to my long weekend hours at work. I'll check back in on Monday. Have a great one! : )

Hey ladies :). I took an extra rest day yesterday, I was beat. So today I doubled up and did both upper body burn set workouts to stay on schedule. the rotation called for core 1 S well, I did about 3 minutes of it and called it quits. So not a fan of core work.

Diana you're doing excellent on the weight loss! Congrats on another couple pounds :). I'd really love to get outside running too but I'm a fair weather runner. Temps are still in the 90s around here and I'm ready for a cold spell. a girl can dream :)

Dang Tina! You're showing off with the extreme legs! I'm enjoying xtrain too but have to admit legs is not my favorite. I prefer cardio leg blast. Last week was my first time doing the bonus rear delts too, I really felt it on my weaker side.

I hope you're both having a great weekend, I'm really snootiness mine :)

Hi ladies :). Yesterday was legs, today I have doms everywhere so taking an unscheduled rest day. Nothing exciting to report, anything new w/ you gals?

Today was XT BS upper body/core premix. My pecks are already waving the white flag. I'm going to take tomorrow morning off and plan for a short evening ride. It's time to start breaking out the bike lights. :/ I have nothing exciting to report either. C'mon new workouts. : )

Hi ladies,

Where has the time gone??? I'm keeping up with my running rotation and signed up for September bootcamp class at the rec ctr. My class started last Thursday and is on M/Th.

I ran almost 5 miles this morning and did abs. My legs are so sore from running stairs last night and running this morning. Sunday I did legs after my run. I'm having a hard time determining when I should be doing leg weights with my running rotation.

Yesterday I did GS Back/Shoulders/Biceps & abs in the A.M. and bootcamp class at night. Tomorrow will be a short run/cardio & GS C&T.

The temps have dropped down to the 60's/70's and rain. It made for a nice cool run this morning!

Keep up the good work ladies!

Hi ladies! Today I did xtrain chest, back & shoulders. Just 2 days left of this rotation and I go on vacation next week. I'm not sure what I'll do for workouts. I have travel fit and I've done hiit pyramid on vacation before. Maybe turbo barre, not a lot of equipment there.

Tina I'm getting antsy for the new workouts too. looking forward mostly to x10. Are you safer on the roads when you need bike lights? seems like it would make you more visible.

Diana you're fitting a ton of workouts in! I wish I could advise you on leg workouts and running but don't know. when I have leg DOMS I will walk but not much more than that. I'm a lightweight :). Very jealous of your temps...

Guess what tomorrow is? :)

Hola :) Did xtrain bis/tris today (plus about half of core2). Tomorrow will be the last day of this rotation (can't wait!), I posted about it in the rotations forum if you want to pop over there. I looked over my workout sheets from the first week through today and found that I increased weights in almost all of the exercises at the top of the sheet, as the workouts progressed I guess my muscles got fatigued so I wasn't upping my weights as much. I really really like the burn sets workouts from this series.

Tina I hope you're getting some rides in with your new busy schedule :) How much longer before you'll have to spin indoors?

How are you doing Diana? Keeping up your hectic schedule?

Sleep tight ladies :)

Good morning Ladies! : ) Yesterday was B&G, everything but SB abs + one Tabata. It hurts to sit this morning. I've been adding BC, upper/lower premix on M/W/F, as it's part of DS's gym class.

Sue, I hope you have a fantastic vacation planned. Can't wait to hear about it when you return. You shouldn't worry too much about working out, you deserve a week off a few times a year! : )

Diana, great job on your mileage! I have GS planned for next week, it always kicks my butt.

We were just talking about how much time we have left for cycle season, and how much we DON'T want to spin indoors. It will have to be pretty nasty outside to get me on a trainer, it's just not the same as the road. Hopefully the Farmer's Almanac is incorrect for this upcoming season predictions. : (

Hi Ladies,

Well we've been getting rain, this is the 3rd straight day of it. Flash flooding warnings etc. I was hoping to run today but the down pour we are having right now isn't suitable for me to run. I know a lot of people that run in the rain, it's just not for me. The plan is to get my run in after bootcamp class tonight....on a "dreadmill"...ugh. I'm going to check the weather and perhaps do my run tomorrow.

This morning I'll be GS C&T and abs.

My weight was up 2#'s at my weigh in yesterday. I'm staying the course and am okay with it. Because I weigh daily at home it's easier for me to deal with.

Just wondering if you are both up for another STS rotation? I'd like to start after my HM on October 20th. I will be gone for a week from Oct 30-Nov 3, but should be able to keep up the with the weight w/o's. Maybe November would be a good time? What do you think?

Sue-Burn Sets are awesome!!! That's great that you were able to increase your weights. Are you going somewhere special for vacation? DH and I are going to our condo in the mountains next week, kid free. It's also our 25 yr anniversary. :)

Tina-Be careful if you are riding in the dark. My bike has been sitting in the garage since my triathlon. There have been several bikers hit by cars and DH doesn't like me to ride alone. Cathe's cycle w/o's are pretty tough for me. I start out fine but about half way through they get really tough for me, the jumps are particularly hard for me.

Yesterday was kickboxing. I thought it might iron out some of my DOMS from B&G, but is only made it worse. I feel like an old lady getting in and out of a chair. Whatever I do for a workout this morning, it will not include lower body work.

Diana, I am in for another round of STS! Just name the date you want to start. November sounds perfect, just enough time to get really familiar with the new workouts before we start. Happy 25th anniversary! Our 24th is coming up a the end of this month. We always take the day off and do a really long anniversary ride. They've reopened the connecting bridge to Maine, and now it has bike lanes, so you don't have to clomp across in cleats. Maine's coastline is spectacular!

Sue, I hope you have a safe road trip! Sounds like a blast! : )

Hellooooo, I hope you're both doing well. I seem to be having bad juju this week. I must do some kind acts this week to reverse the bad karma following me. Bike is back in the shop, dentist appointment to restore broken tooth, and a child with a chronic skin infection. Thank goodness I have all these fantastic workouts to release some of the stress. This week is GS and Amy Bento cardios. I've seen some real increases in GS weights, thanks to the STS rotations over the last 18 months. : )

Amy's new cardios shipped yesterday, and Cathe's sound like they are right around the corner. My head is spinning with anticipation, where to start?
What upper body workouts will you add to the newest set? It seems to be lower body focused. I'm loving all of the clips so far!

Can't wait to hear how you're week is going. : )

Hi Ladies,

I'm up in the mountains and have escaped the flooding in my area. DS1 called last night to let us know we have a bit of water in the basement. Nothing serious though, the sump pump just couldn't keep up with all the water. He also called the other day to let us know we had a leak in our living room. He said it wasn't serious enough for us to come home though. DH said we will be leaving on Thursday so he can have an extra day to repair whatever needs to be done.

We were unable to get reservations for last night (our anniversary), but will be going to dinner tonight at a fancy restaurant.

I've been keeping up with my running program, Sunday-7 miles (longest run so far, Monday-T25 Speed 1.0 & Ab Intervals, Tues-4.5 mile run & abs. Today will either be a short run (3 miles) or a T25 w/o & abs.

Tina-I also like to do Kickboxing after a heavy leg training day to work out the dom's. Sorry it didn't work for you this time. My DH's uncle lives on the coast of Maine, Muscongus Bay to be exact. I trained in the ocean off his pier last summer. Which Amy's did you get? She is another of my favorite trainers! Kickbox Xtreme, Slo Mo challenge, another weight w/o but the title escapes me right now. I too am looking forward to the new Cathe w/o's which I expect to be shipping very soon. I still haven't done all the T25 w/o's I have. I kind of have an exercise addiction and order all kinds of home w/o's. I also have P90x2 which I've only ever done a couple of w/o's from but haven't followed the whole rotation yet.

Sue-hope you are having a wonderful vacation!!

This week was all of the GS, a core segement, and three kickboxing workouts. Today I tried the new Body Box by Amy Bento and really loved it. New workouts mean added motivation! : )

Diana, I hope you had a wonderful anniversary get away and didn't come home to a big clean up. How are the roads around you? You're rocking the workouts this month!

Sue, can't wait to hear how you made out. Miss your posts!

Have a great weekend! : )

Hi Ladies,

Psyching myself up for an 8 mile run this morning. Will be heading out shortly. I'll be back to post my results!

Back to report that my 8 mile run is done, took 1 hour and 23 minutes. I run about 10:30 pace and was able to keep that pace throughout my run. The last half mile was really hard....I wanted to stop but so close to 8 miles....I pushed through.

Then I mowed the lawn....wanted to keep the legs moving so they didn't tighten up on me. I did thoroughly stretch after my run before I mowed. While doing laundry I did GS C&T....my legs are so sore right now. I'll probably do stretch max tonight before bed.
