guess what?! dh told me on Valentine's that we can finally take a week off and have a wedding ceremony and honeymoon THIS SUMMER! very exciting, but i gotta hurry up and get my ass in gear! this is motivation! i have been looking at all the honeymoon spots and have choosen Secrets Excellence Riviera Cancun. it is actually 30 miles from Cancun. Check it out! it is fabulous. we are going to have a ceremony at sunset on the beach. just the 2 of us. all the rooms are suites. they have a wedding package. it is an amazing resort and i can't wait! i have to find a dress for the beach ceremony and one for the big reception that we are having for friends and family when we get back. lots to do, and cathe's gonna have to help. i have a deadline now! probably July. anyway....just wanted to tell all of you the good news!

Congrats! My hubby and I just got married in Mexico a month ago yesterday. We stayed at the Riu Palace in playa del carmen and it was awesome. We're leaving for the honeymoon in 5 weeks, and I'm trying to do the best I can to lose some pounds before then...as you said - it's a deadline now! Best wishes - I'm sure everything will be fabulous!!! Oh it's so much fun!!! Enjoy!

Thanks Dani and Amy! i have heard nothing but great stories about going to Mexico. i have only been once on a port of call during a cruise. didn't get to see anything. this time it's all about r&r!

Happy planning! We honeymooned in Cancun 21 years ago! Really I was just a child bride LOL. But anyhoot, we've been back to Cancun a few times since then. We believe in an annual honey moon~ I highly recomend it if you can. Oh, and Cancun has some of the most beautiful sand beaches in the world.

Have fun looking forward to your special celebration. I didn't get my "honeymoon" until our tenth anniversary, but it was worth it! (Hawaii). Beautiful, sunny islands are one of the best workout motivators in my opinion! Here's to love!

thanks sandra! i am having trouble deciding on teh gown. since it's a beach ceremony and we will be barefoot, i want my dress for that to be sorta of simple. the one for the traditional reception will be the "princess" corset with a huge fluffy skirt sort of thing. but i haven't chosen an exact one yet. i have been to several boutiques in the past year to try dresses on. that is exhausting! especially when you take your mother and loony grandma with you! but it was fun. i haven't talked to anyone about the wedding package yet, but i know a photographer and videographer are availible and we will be using them. your post was super sweet! more details in email!

Did you elope or marry in a city hall? Or is this a renewal vow? I'm a bit confused here as you are already married. If this is a stupid question, please forgive me....I have a bad case of a cold and just took some medicine.

Lisa: you're funny! no i'm not married. we have lived together for 4 years and engaged for 2. haven't had time to get married yet. i use dh cause it's shorter than fiance. :)
