Lisa, are your eyebrows getting thinner too, or just your eyelashes? It might come with aging. Did your mother's do the same thing?

not sure about my moms. my eyelashes are about the same as always some how I was wishing the answer wouldn't be aging cuz I can't do anythign about that

I don't know why this is happening or the solution (although I would bet it has something to do with genetics), but I do know that my Aunt uses a cosmetic that might help. She has two mascaras (sort of)....one is white and it thickens. She puts it on, let's it dry and then adds regular mascara. I don't know what brand or anything but I know that she buys them together in the drug store.

I have the opposite problem...my eyelashes are so long that when I do wear mascara, I have to hold my eyes open with my fingers until it is dry b/c they get stuck together or bleed the mascara onto my face!

Based on my experience, it definitely has to do with aging. If you look at any other the older movie stars, you will notice that their eyes seem to have less definition and less visible lashes than then when they were young. However, you can hide it with use of a good eyeliner and mascara. Make sure that you use use good eye cream and skin care products. Nothing makes a person look older than their skin...trust me.

Rhonda

The white mascara is a primer. It makes lashes thicker and longer but if it's not a good quality primer when you use regular mascara on top of it you can get clumps. I have heard about people that lose their eyelashes as they age. I don't know if it happens to everyone or if it is a genetic thing. Everybody loses a couple of eyelashes daily, but like hair, they grow back, however not as fast. The products you use on your eyes can make you lose more eyelashes than you should so you have to be careful about that too.

Lisa,

Eyelash issues usually do come with age :( I used to have a nervous habit of pulling at my lashes, and when I began using Lamas Lash Masque, it really helped. It reminded me to keep my hands off and strengthened my lashes as well. I would say keep using your regular non-waterproof mascara, then the lash masque or a similar product at night. It is kind of like a tint, so it shouldn't get on your pillowcase. You can buy it from the Lamas website, but it's less expensive here: http://www.heavenlyskin.com/catalog/peter-lamas/Lash-Masque.html

As for fake lashes- I'd only use them for a special event or not at all. Go to a makeup counter and purchase a pair- they'll show you how to put them on. The glue isn't good for the lashes you already have.

Lisa!

I E-mailed you some info from Francine. Good Luck!
