Explain the Timesaver to me, please?

Cathe/educated crowd:

I'm VERY interested in the Timesaver DVD. (I already have all the BB VHS vids) Would somebody explain to me how it works? Which vids does it include, etc.?!?!

Thanks, Marcia :)

Hi Marcia,

Not Cathe, by the way:) .

The best way to describe the Timesaver DVD is that it is very much like the CTX series. Each workout consists of a warm up, a cardio portion (made up of cardio from the other workouts or new footage) similar in length to the CTX cardio sections, a weight segment (each workout targeting specific muscles again using either footage from the other workouts or new footage), and a cool down/stretch. The length of each workout is only 45 minutes or so so that if you're pressed for time you can still get in a great workout. You could use the Timesaver DVD for a whole week and get lots of cardio and work all the muscle groups. It's basically its' own rotation.

HTH,

Since my DVD's won't be here until Tuesday, can you tell me what the additional footage is on these? (I like to live vicariously!)

Hi Kathyrn,
I haven't gone through the whole DVD yet, but on the First workout, (there are 5)the extra footage consists of one arm tricep extensions over the head and then using the same weight (10#'s) tricep side raises. Like in the CTX series I think, but Cathe only used 8#s there. The extra push ups were pretty easy actually. You do a push up and quickly make a rowing move with one arm.
In workout #3, there is a extra bicep move. You support your upper body over the ball (your feet can be in any postition) and do bicep curls with full extention. The ball makes the move a little more challenging. I started out with 12's and quickly went down to what Cathe was using....10's.

Will this help get you to Tuesday? :p

Kathryn, I haven't done Timesaver workouts yet. But I remember your asking about the order of the workouts in another thread. Let me tell you you'll love the Workout Blender! It allows you to put the sections into the order you want.

Yippee! I definitely want to do the "weights first" order, which is something that I don't have yet in my workout collection. Glad to hear it's easily programmable.
