Expensive shampoo - Bumble and Bumble

I got my hair cut today and of course my hairdresser was trying to get my to buy products. I did like the way that my hair looked and felt, so I decided to just see what she had to say. We went over to where the shampoo was and she said she used the volumizing Bumble and Bumble shampoo. This stuff was like $27 for an 8 oz bottle. At least at this price it was easy for me to resist. Needless to say, I walked out with no products.

Does anyone use this stuff? Is it really any better than anything else out there? What the heck is in this stuff that they can charge that much money for it?

Hi,
I've been using B&B for a LONG time now. Thanks to a "friend" from this forum. It's not really a shampoo which is made from soap. It's more like a fruit smoothie for your hair. It's supposed to be mostly natural ingredients. I think this product is worth the money. I've tried a lot of things like Paul Mitchell, Redkin, etc and they all made my hair feel roughish. B&B keeps my hair soft ALL day long and my hair is naturally very soft. I think my hair is "sensitive" to the chemicals in regular shampoo. Not to mention, I use Alojoba one and it smells SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! A lot of guys like the way it smells.

Karin,

I won't even spend $27.00 on the HAIRCUT! Forget about the shampoo!:7 :7 :7

I had been convinced to buy shampoo/conditioner from a stylist years ago and it was a mistake. It did nothing so I gave it up fast.

However, when I got my hair chopped off on my honeymoon to a super short cut, the stylist on the ship used a certain styling product. After spending $60.00 on the cut (BELIEVE ME, it was a ONCE IN A LIFETIME thing!) I figured another $15.00 on a product is no biggie...plus the fact I had no gels or anything with me but hairspray because my hair was all one length and long...I didn't use anything else. Soooo anyway, I bought it and liked it and continued to purchase it at home when I got my hair cut but one jar lasted me forever so it came out to very little money spent.:p

I have really long hair and everybody is impressed how healthy it is.I think it comes from inside,I rather spend $27 in some fruits and veggies and vitamins.I use Pantene and after it's dry,Zero Frizz hair serium all under $8 each. But that's just my opinion...:7 One more thing,I don't blow dry my hair (I'm not crazy to try !).:p

I use the tinted Bumble and Bumble on my colored treated hair (red), and it's the best shampoo and conditioner I've used. I have thick, fine hair (meaning I have lots of hair, it's just fine and frizzes easy), and Bumble and Bumble gets it softer and shinier than anything I've ever used. I've used Halo, Pureology, Bed Head....they're good, too, but Bumble is the best of them. That being said, if $27 freaks you out (which I completely understand), then ignore me completely!

BTW, their Curling Creme is magic....

HTH:)

Karin-

Maybe it depends upon what type of hair you have, but I think shampoo is unimportant. The important stuff for me are the leave-in products. So, I use Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo, but then use the products my stylist gave me that don't get washed out. I would not be able to style my very coarse, thick, curly hair properly without those products because it would be too unruly and would look frizzy.

If you have fine hair, and don't use leave-in products at all, it's possible that the shampoo could be important. I think you have to see how easy it is to style with and without the shampoo.

I love Bumble and Bumble products. I use the super conditioner and some of their styling products. I use Pureology shampoo though, it just works better for me. I have noticed a big difference in my hair since using super conditioner.

Karin, I have a bottle of B&B volume shampoo. I'm CERTAIN they didnt charge $27. I'd NEVER spend that much on 8 oz. shampoo. I've tried products from Nick Chavez on QVC. They seem to be really good quality and are not that expensive.
