Excited for the Oscars this Sunday?

I am! I feel like it's my 'Superbowl' for fashion! I can't say I have seen alot of the movies, but after watching the show, I usually go out and rent the ones that won awards. I just love seeing all the dresses and then hearing the critiques the next day.

That is cool that it excites you so much! I for one can't stand award shows - I have this thing where I get embarrassed when they are making their victory speech. I don't know what the heck it is - but I just don't watch and then I don't have to feel the anxiety! I guess it stresses me out that they will get cut off by the music, if that makes sense??

Okay - I am weird. Have fun!

I'll have it on, but it's hard for me to sit and watch any awards show all the way through. I am just watching for the dresses. :p

Normally the Oscars are my superbowl of fashion too! But this year I'm just not intrigued by the nominees. I've only seen one of the movies that's nominated (No Country for Old Men) and to be honest, I wasn't all impressed. :(

I'll probably tune in for a bit to see what they're all wearing but I doubt I'll watch it this year. I'm always more interested in the pre-shows anyway where they get interviewed. So I'll watch that, but I can't guarantee I'll watch much more.

Clarissa, you are hilarious! I am the same way, I get all nerved up and feel anxious for them or something!:)

I love the dresses though, but not the way the titter on and on about who they are wearing...oh please.

The after shows are the best, the "Fashion Police" where they rate the different dresses and stuff is always fun. Plus, for some reason, I never see any of the movies nominated, the only year I did was when Titanic won everything.

I mainly like the clothes, but I just catch up on gossip/fashion websites the next day rather than actually watching. Awards shows just seem to drag on and on with Hollywood indulging in a self-love fest.

But that sounds bitter--I don't mind what they do--I just don't watch personally.

I stopped being excited about the Oscars years ago.

Now, I tape it, and fast forward through most of it to get to the 'good' stuff.

The trouble with the Oscars and the Grammies is that it's the insiders that are voting. I like the award shows that it's the viewer or the peoples choice.

I mean you fall in love with a movie and then it bombs at the Oscars because it wasn't artful or some political nonsense. But it was the richest movie at the box office! Go figure.

I'm exactly the opposite. I don't think that just because a movie does well at the box office, that it was necessarily a great film. Now, I'm sure "Spiderman 3," the highest grossing movie of 2007, was very entertaining, but was it really the best film of the year? Was the acting, directing, and writing better than even one of the Oscar-nomintated films? Okay, I didn't see it, so maybe I shouldn't say anything, but I really hope that there was something else better out there.

Hate the Oscars, definitely not interested in today's celebrities. No one else on earth celebrates themselves so much and gives themselves so many awards and pats on the backs as celebrities. Give me a break.x(

I am with you on the "self-love fest". Hollywood is out of control with all of that, gross. I used to love to watch the Grammys but even that has been a snooze-fest.

Oh and Dave! Love your new picture!:7

Yes Indeedy!!! I agree!!
(Despite my less than positive view I do hope Ms. Bella aka Carrie enjoys them---enjoy that next round of P90X!)

I agree about celebrities having so many awards and shows to show us how many awards they win! It is ridulous! Someone needs to have that many award shows for people that actually deserve it, like parents, soldiers, teachers etc....

** Like your new picture too Dave!

I don't love them or hate them. I just think that it's nice to see some real talent like the Cohen Brothers, Julian Schnabel, Daniel Day Lewis, Ellen Page, Javier Bardem, Philip Seymour Hoffman, etc. get some props. With all the worthless info that goes out daily regarding so many talentless celebrities, I find it refreshing to see some of the artists that I admire getting some props for a change.

Do I take the Academy Awards seriously? Of course not. Sometimes they get it right, but more often as not there are those head-scratchers: "Driving Miss Daisy" as best picture while "Do the Right Thing" didn't even getting nominated? Please!

I love watching the gowns, but the mindless chatter is numbing!!! I cant stand the horrible one liners or stupid chatter interaction these people have to make before presenting an award. And that's with writers writing that crap!!!

Will Joan Rivers in all her plastic glory be there yammering away on the microphone? Can't miss that!

LOL!!! Is she still alive or are they just propping up her plastic corpse on the red carpet??? (although I do like her Geico commercial!)

Love the dresses and the hair and the makeup - I don't care "who" they are wearing. I don't care who wins. I can't listen and watch all thoses dumbass one liners/jokes. I love "assessing the body language" between couples. Then I love all the gossip that comes out after.

Joan RIVERS and her daughter - I don't find plastic face Joan all that funny, shes very loud, way too loud. Nor have I really heard her "go to town" about what someone is wearing. Maybe the producers delete that bit for us over here.

The overall show is boring.
