Ever clean your step?

I have to ask! I'm a neat freak and it takes a lot of control to keep me from stopping in the middle of an intense workout to pick up the dirt I see on the floor of my workout room. But, the deodorant marks and sweat stains on my step have GOT TO GO! Any suggestions??????????

Be careful and do not use Pledge-- I did and it made my step squeak loudly and the noise was very hard to get rid of.

I took mine outside and used the hose on it. I scrubbed it with a rag and that was enough to take off the sweat stains.

I spray it down with a solution of vinegar and water that I mix up in an old Windex bottle. I pour about 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar in there and use it for glass cleaning, countertops and so forth. It works on the step too. Spray it down, wipe it off, ready for more hopping and dripping.

I clean mine when I wash my car outside. During the winter I'll use a cleaning spray (like Kaboom or Sinple Green), lay it in the tub to shower it off, and use paper towels to dry it ~ in case there is any extra dirt. Susan C.M.

I just cleaned mine because it was looking pretty dirty on top (and one of my cats had thrown up on it). I just wiped it off with Simple Green cleanser). Looks nice and shiny now!

I know this sounds crazy, but I clean mine with Huggies baby wipes. They are really thick like clothes and are so gentle to clean with. I clean anything leather, plastic or anything made with rubber. It cleans great and doesn't have any harsh abrasions.

Summer: hose, winter: shower. I like the Huggies thing, will try that.

Kathryn...your cats do step too? Mine think they own the thing. One of them likes to hang out on top, the other underneath. They haven't thrown up on it yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time! LOL
