Endurance Question

I seemed to be endurance challenged. I am enjoying Imax 2 but I am finding it difficult to complete all 10 cycles. I find that I can complete one cycle and barely the second. I am trying to increase my cardio from thirty minutes to 1 hour continously. Is it ok to do two cycles, march in place until I am recovered, the next two cycles, recovered, the next two cycles until I reach the 60 minutes or complete all ten cycles? Or should i do has many as i can on one day, then try to increase the next day until i am able to complete all cycles? how long did it take many of you to notice an increase in your endurance? any suggestions on building my endurance is welcomed. Do you find drinking a lot of water, or lack of, affects your endurance?

Thanks for listening

That's how I did it - work until I just can't anymore, then grapevine or march until I'm recovered and then just jump back in again. I didn't pause the dvd, just jumped back in wherever Cathe was - usually it would be about half way through the step routine before the blast. Sometimes I would pause it and go get some more water. If you do interval training once or twice a week, you will see an amazing increase in your endurance. Just keep plugging away and listening to your body. It is such a great feeling! Good luck! Hi Ya Yvonne. Try mixing it up and doing the last blasts first does that make sense. So in other words say 6-10 are the hardest try the mix and match or chapters choice and do your warm up 6-10 and then 1-5.

Hey Marnie,

Thank you so much for responding. That is a great suggestion, this way i can at least get my full hour of work out in. How long did it take you to complete the entire imax2? After how many sessions did you notice a change in your endurance.

Thanks again.

Hey Beth6395,

I'm not sure I understand how mixing things up will help, please clarify. I thought I would try to conquer the shorter mixes first. Are you saying if I do the harder blast first, I'll develop my endurance more quickly. Love to hear from you.

Yvonne,

Here's how I did it. I found imax 2 at the library, have been working out for years and thought Oh a new workout I'll try it. Wow!! was I in for a shock!! It took me 3 times renewing the video to finally conquer imax 2. ( what's that 9 weeks?) I at first only did the first 3 cycles: step routine and blast twice a week and then added to it. Each week I added one or two, depending how hard they were.(in order) It didn't bother me that I didn't go the full hour because I still got a good workout!! It was my first Cathe tape ever so I not only had a hard time with the blasts but also the foot work. It was slow and steady but I'll tell you, when I finished I felt great! It was worth taking it slow. I also think the first 5 intervals are harder than the last 5.

Good Luck,
Take it slow and steady and you won't regret it!!

Hi! Imax2 was the first workout I did where I started noticing a difference in my endurance. I have always had a problem with endurance and never noticed much of a change until Imax2. I still have a long way to go, but I'm definitely better than I was. I would do as much of the blast as I could and then move to the next one, I paused the tape whenever I needed to before moving on to the next step routine. I did this with each blast and when I started I could only complete 2 blasts and I would do as much of the others as I could. I was able to do more almost everytime I did the workout. It took me about 4 months to be able to do them all. I still modify some of the moves a little bit, but I can complete all of the blasts now. What a great feeling that is! Just keep at it and you will improve!
