Emergency slim down?!

I have a wedding to go to that snuck up on me in three weeks. Of course there will be people there who I haven't seen since before I had my little girl and got all rolly-polly:( I know it's not good to go on crash diets but I don't want to show up looking frumpy. I have about 10 lbs. to lose before I am back to pre-baby weight. What are your best "quick fix" suggestions? Workouts, diets/eating, hair/makeup tricks, etc.?
TIA!

The best "quick fix" I know of is CLEAN EATING! I mean 100% for 3 solid weeks...The other benefit will be that by the time the wedding is here you'll have already made it a 21 day habit! :)

Exercise 5-6 days per week - focus on giving your workouts 150% every workout. Thats more important imo than the "duration".

Keep in mind if you are really working out at full capacity then you wont be able to do that on a fad crash diet!

IMO you'll get the most bang for your buck in 3 weeks by:

Circuit Workouts (Cathes are the BEST!) alternated with various cardio days (Kick-running-step-the Imax's) After the wedding I'd switch to an STS type program.

100% compliance on clean eating with approriate portion sizes - Fish for dinner leans me out quickly. No white flours or sugars - no "fake" food of any kind. Protein bars & most protein shakes can bloat alot of people. Stick to real food in their most natural state.

3 weeks is a good amount of time to see results! Its a matter of how clean you get that diet & how intense you focus your personal efforts in each & every workout.

Just my thoughts- Hope it helps.

I agree with Traci and Sparrow and want to add SPANX!! They work wonders on helping smooth you out:) And dresses with ruching help disguise extra pounds, too.

Check out the brand new diet book from the protein power doctors called "The 6 week cure for the middle aged middle" I'm going to get a copy. I know its for 6 weeks not for 3 but maybe it will help.

I agree, clean diet, portion control, eat often, don't let your body get into starvation mood, that's the worst, if you have time and energy, try to use the treadmill on elevated, high incline, like I don't know maybe 15% or more and walk only walk for an hour or so that burns high amount of calories, if you can do this 2-3 times a week, beside your regular workout you are doing, drink lot of water, not bread that work for me, stop eating bread or at least have only in the morning. And don't eat before going to bed.
I hope this help some!
Keep us update on how thing work for you!!!;)

Ok, great advide friends, thanks. I went to the farmer's market this morning and stocked up on veggies. Now I'll have to go find lots of fish too. I hadn't thought of it, but Traci you are right, three weeks will get me into the habit of better eating to boot! I'll get some spanks to wear under my dress too.
Should I do circuits every other day with cardio?

Calee, I'd do 2 circuits, 1 total body, 1 kickbox, 1 hiit, and 1 steady state incline walk or step workout:) And have fun!

But do realize that no matter what you do, if you do it healthfully, you won't be losing the full 10 pounds. Healthy weight loss (unless one is obese) is about 1-2 pounds per week, though YMMV.

Remove grains from your diet for this period, except for a very limited amount of whole grains (NOT flour made from them, or rolled whole grains, or chopped whole grains. No breads, cereals, bagels, etc. but actual whole grains, like quinoa, millet, whole oats for example, though for the best results, completely eliminating them would work best).

For breakfast, make a quart of green smoothie (see recipes in my blog here). This will reduce your appetite (the stomach only holds about a quart, so nothing else will fit) as well as your calories (green smooties are low calorie) but also nourish you as they are very high in nutrition.

Kathryn, I will definitely try your green smoothies. I do realize 10 lbs won't fall off that fast, but if I can fake as much as I can in this time crunch I will be more prepared to meet and greet the masses. (I have to schmooze with all the long lost "friends" you know;))

Also, get a great haircut and/or professional style and makeup application. Wear some fab yet relatively comfy heels as well. You probably won't lose 10 lbs, but with clean eating, intense workouts, and feeling your best with a little professional grooming and updating will make you smile more, walk taller, and look amazing.
