Embarrassing - burning feet!

Help!

It seems no matter what socks I try, or shoes, my feet, especially my left is on fire by the end of a Cathe step workout. Why is this happening?

I've tried thin and thick socks, socks made of different materials, and various New Balance shoes (for my wide feet).

I also have flat feet.

Has this happened to you? How did you fix it?

Thanks for reading my post!

Hi Susan! Are your shoes tight through the ball of your foot? What about the cushioning? Are you wearing aerobic shoes? It sounds like you may not have the right fitting shoe. (I know that's frustrating if you've already tried several.)

I use New Balance cross trainers and the ball of the foot is comfy, actually. I am wondering if the sock is twisting inside the shoe and causing friction.

Thanks!

When I get new shoes, I have to spend an unusual time lacing and relacing. If the laces are right over a nerve in the top of my foot, my foot will either tingle or feel like it's on fire. Very often, I'll skip the set of holes and lace up around that set of holes. It's still keeping my shoe on. I also lace loosly.

The other culprit for me is the shoe itself. I had a pair of Rykas I used for about a month. The way it was sewn together had the seam of the lacing area hitting a sensitive spot on the left foot. The right was just fine! But the pressure on the top of my foot make them unsuitable for working out. And I paid $60 for them! Well, I go grocery shopping in them and feel snazzy when I do.

Keep experimenting. Eventually you will find your culprit.

It may very well be the lacing. These particular shoes are new, and you're probably on to something because it is difficult to move the laces around and get them "just right".

Thanks!
