So I went out on a limb and decided to order some of her dvds. This morning I tried Skinny Sculpt and I absolutely loved it. I felt so good when I was done but not beat up like some other workouts make me feel. This is a real nice change for me. Does anyone else her workouts? I used 2# weights and my shoulders were on FIRE!

I have a few of them - I love Barefoot Cardio. Fun for when you don't feel like giving it 100% but before you know it you are and having a blast!

Yes I also love Ellen's workouts. It all started with her Studio Series--never cared for them before that. I tried Fat Burning Fusion and loved how I felt afterwards. I ended up getting the whole series and use them regularly. They have actually changed the way I work out. I love feeling stretched, toned and flexible. They felt so good after completing an STS and then a CLX rotation. Slimmer waist, slimmer legs and slimmer arms--go figure.

How do they compare with tonique?

Does anyone know how they compare with tonique? I have just tried those and all I can say is................whoaaaa!

From different reviews I think Tonique would be a lot harder. I don't have them (yet!) but plan on getting them in the fall when the kids go back to school. I take it you're enjoying them?!!:D

I have Yogini, and it's one of my favorite non-Cathe workouts. It starts out seeming to be easy, but builds up into being a very effective workout. You get a stretch at the same time you're toning up. It really chills me out too.

"Enjoying" might not be the right word.... They are intense! The tonique fitness one does so many varieties of standing lunges and squats, jumps and combinations that your hips buns and thighs feel like they are on fire:D and then the mat workout... I still have not gotton all the way through and it is only about an hour--- but the angles and high repitions are really effective!

I do enjoy the instructor-- Sylwia-- she has a nice accent and is pleasant!

I have CrunchYoga/pilates blend. Love it. And yogini, which IMO is hard. Starts easy and builds. Great workout but I'm new to yoga so it maybe a little advanced for me at this time. I also have fat burning fusion and that is a lot of fun and I worked up a nice sweat with it. I hope to acquire more of her Studio workouts. I think she is great!

I tried 2 of her workouts through NetFlix: Pick Your Level Weight Loss Pilates and Pick Your Spot Pilates. Currently my favorite non-Cathe workout is: Pick Your Level Weight Loss Pilates...I LOVE it! I feel awesome afterwards and the 30 minutes flies by. I really like the Pick Your Spot too. I just got it and have only done it twice.

I want to try more of her workouts and possibly to a rotation of them after I finish STS. Does anyone know where I can find all or most of her workouts? TIA! (sorry to hijack your thread Kariev!) ETA: Nevermind! I found ellenbarrett.com. Duh! Always try a Google search first!

Too funny, Lisa! I do the same thing - ask before googling! LOL! My DH gets so frustrated! "Have you tried google?" he says, then I hang my head shamefully and slink away to do so!

Ellen Barrett and Tonique are nothing alike, in my opinion. Ellen's workouts are a sort of fusion of pilates/yoga/cardio -- big movements, not fast. Tonique is more like traditional working out -- squats/lunges, but with light enough weights that they are basically non-weighted and you do them really fast so there's a big cardio effect. You don't get nearly that heart rate rise with Ellen. I like them both, but they are very different. Even Tonique Mat is not in Ellen's style.

WOW! Its so great to see others who love Ellen too. I'm going to have to get the yogini workout. I'm no longer into pushing my weight lifting to the max. I much prefer to stretch and do light weights. I felt so good today after the workout. I hope she comes out with more workouts.

As far as tonique, its definately way more intense then Ellens workouts.

Someone just posted on another forum that she went to a live class with Ellen and it was great. She can't wait to go again. It was more of a barre workout and maybe mat also but I forget. It was also mentioned that Ellen looks amazing. Others who have gone to her classes have said the same thing. Everyone seems to really enjoy them. She is in CT.
