Elbow pain

Cathe,
I recently started working out again and I purchased 4 tapes and some equipment from your site. I am loving working out again, especially with my weights but my elbow has been hurting. It does not feel like the bones but towards the front side. Can you tell me if there are exercises to do to strenghten around my elbow so I can continue enjoying my weights. I have arthritis in other joints and it may be in elbow but do not want to give up my workouts, so if you have some help for me on what I can do, it would be greatly appreciated....You are my hero....I am feeling and looking so much better since I first started with you on Fit Tv...Thanks for your help....

Definitely not Cathe,

For me I have found I do better with low rep lifting. I also started out light and very slowly increased weight. I am unable to do any punching in the kickboxing dvd's. Always ice up after exercising. Also be extra careful with form.
 
Just my 2cents here...I had a similar elbow pain related to lifting. I was able to rehab it with NSAIDs, steroids and physical therapy. However, I learned how important it is (as Cathe reminds us in all her DVDs) to take the time to stretch the forearms while working out when you do exercises that tighten them. Also important are forearm strengthening exercises such as wrist curls.

Bottom line is don't push thru that pain. I did and it made much worse. Smarter to stop doing those things that irritate it until the pain is gone.
