egg explosions

I put four eggs in a pan and boiled them. But I went on these boards and forgot all about them until I heard some very loud exploding noises coming from the kitchen. They exploded!! All the water was gone from the pan! Now there's egg on my ceiling, on the floor, everywhere.... ARGH.

You distracted me, so who's gonna help me clean up??

Laughing so loudly that I know my neighbor must have heard me! LOL! LOL! I have done similiar things like almost burned something because I love to be on here chatting so much. I am sorry, you had such a mess on your hands though. If it will make you feel any better. My dogs vomited on the floor this morning and I stepped in it, not once, but twice. I swear I need hardwood flooring all throughout my house with pets. I give up!

I have done this too. I admit it. Fortunately most of the mess hit the over-the-stove fan/light thing and didn't get all over the ceiling. And the racoons enjoyed eating the yucky egg stuff.

I once reheated a cold hardboiled egg in the microwave just for a minute or so. I went to take a bite and it exploded everywhere. I had egg all over my glasses too. Scared the heck out of me! I wasn't thinking! Duh!!!

THANK YOU for posting this. I did the same thing last weekend and caught them just in the nick of time - 6 eggs! I wondered what would have happened had I come in 30 seconds later. Now I know!

And it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one who does this!!

My dh boils eggs every morning, and we get so busy with kids and getting them ready that we forget about the eggs all the time! I guess we should consider ourselves lucky...this hasn't happened (yet)! I'll be sure to pay more attention. I certainly wouldn't feel like cleaning egg of the ceiling or anywhere else especially since we just painted!

Sorry you have such a mess on your hands! :-(
