Ectochick Check - 10/28

Angela,

I forgot to tell you, that I too, have digestive problems. I have an ulcer and esophagitis(similar effects happen as with colitis), so I know all about the flareups. I never lost a ton of weight though luckily, but had a very hard time (still) of putting it on..........Same weight and height(practically) and similar digestive problems. Boy, are we soulmates.

P.S. Now I know why God didnt give me big boobs............I would topple over...........Ha Ha.

Thanks for all the postings and help with getting me started, although it seems by the looks of your workouts, Im not nearly as dedicated as you. Keep up the good work............GN

GN, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you have digestive problems, too. I think the tendency to be thin and the predisposition to digestive troubles go hand in hand.

There have been times I wished I was a little better endowed. I got up to a C cup when I was on the pill, but returned to a B when I got off it. With my size and small frame, that's probably just as well.

Robin, I'd be interested to hear more about your Mom - what did she do to put her UC in remission? I have an uncle that had it for years. They finally removed his colon now that he's in his 70s. He was in really bad shape, but is doing better now.

Angela,

I dont know if it would help you, but have you ever had a natural cleansing (such as the type they recommend for preparing for a colonoscopy)??? I dont know if it was coincidence or what, but I had to do one 2 months ago, and ever since, my stomach problems and "regularity" problems have diminished greatly. The GI physician also recommended I take Citrucel every day. I dont do everyday(because I suffer greatly from bloating and fiber causing more of it) but I try to take few times a week.

Also I read a few interesting reports published saying that @80% of digestive problems are initially started by live parasites. So the saying for a "skinny" person, "You must have a tapeworm w/all you eat" isnt so unbelievable. Another bacteria popular for setting off digestion problems is H.Pylori. I was tested and negative, but if positive, antibiotics can cure the symptoms and help with the diseases. Hope this helps. How long have you had colitis........

P.S. I saw your bio picture. You look terrific. Healthy looking.

Thanks. I look and feel better now than I've felt since I was originally diagnosed almost three years ago. I suffered with "irritable bowel" off and on for years before that.

It's been a long uphill battle. I've had all kinds of tests and spent incredible amounts of money on supplements and gimmicks. I've had two colonoscopies with complete "cleansings." Fun stuff!

The things I believe have helped me the most are dietary changes - eating mostly lean protein and lo-carb veggies, eliminating sugar, grains and dairy, etc., fish/flax oil supplements, l-glutamine (also good for muscle development!), and a probiotic called Primal Defense. Oh, and regular weight training workouts to build healthy muscle and counteract the effects of the bone-thinning prednisone they had me on when I was really in bad shape.

Hello fellow Ecto's

I know Angela you said you dont incorporate any cardio into your workouts, but I was wondering what you other guys recommend for a good Cathe cardio preferably w/ abs and lower body incorporated! Need to lose a little bit in the waist and tummy, However dont want to sacrifice my weight gains in my legs.
Thanks,
GN
