Eating out: What are we really eating?

I had an employee who worked as a waitress for a time, both at good privately owned places and a couple of chains. Her exact words when describing the food in the chain restaurants was "They make consistent mediocrity. It's all crap".

I think one problem with the chains is that a lot of the food is pre-prepared. I know this was the case at the restaurants my employee worked at. I'm curious to know how much of what they do is just re-heating as opposed to actual cooking.

DH and I really enjoy eating out. We probably do it a couple of times a month and it's always in privately owned restaurants. We also eat a fair amount of take-out sushi. DH gets a hankering for it about once a week, and I don't mind :9 .

>I eat healthy atleast 80% of the time and for me, that is good
>enough! :+

I think 80% or above is all good!

Unfortunately, there are many people who eat badly 90% of the time, and think that the 10% of good stuff (maybe the lettuce and tomatoes that comes on their double bacon cheeseburger?) will make up for it.
