Eating healthy with a crazy work schedule!?!

So I have a friend that works 1 week days - 1 week nights alternating. I am sure there are nurses and other policeman that have this same problem.

I told my friend that I would ask the most educated people I know (YOU GUYS!) to see what is the best thing to do. His metabolism is slow and I am sure it is in combination with his work schedule.

I know that on his last day of nights he doesn't get a full night/day rest because he is trying to make the transition back to days. What is the best way to address this problem?
