DVD's better than downloads?

I am new to Cathe's workouts, I recently purchased 2 DVD's. I just found this website and have discovered the downloads. It seems like such a great deal! Why do people choose DVD's over downloads? Is it just the computer space or is there more to it? I just wanted to get some opinions first as to which people prefer and why. Thanks so much!

I work out in my living room where my TV and DVD player are. So I use DVDs.

My computer (a desktop type) is upstairs in a small spare bedroom, so a download would do me no good.

Also, with a large TV I can see what's going on, I wouldn't be happy watching the workout on a small lap top computer screen.

But, if I were going to take a laptop to the gym, to use their equipment instead of working out at home, then a download would be perfect.

I'm guessing that there are ways to play a download on a TV, but I'm not computer savvy enough (nor do I have the equipment) to do that :D

I think it all boils down to where you are going to do your workouts and what equipment you own.

Welcome !! I'm new to Cathe's workouts also (June) and I'm loving every minute of it.
The workouts are fantastic !!

I have about 6 downloads and a jillion DVDs. I view downloads on my laptop and can use the workout blender. Downloads don't play properly on my computer; the audio and video are slightly out of sync no matter what I do.
Downloads lack premixes, although mixes of your design can be created using the blender. Every download I have purchased, I have re- purchased as a DVD.
I view DVDs on a 13 inch TV, downloads on a 17 inch laptop.

If you get the downloads is it possible to put it on a DVD that you could then use on the tv? I'm not very computer savvy either. Maybe I'll buy one and see if my husband can help me out. I'm not really familiar with the premixes, I haven't messes around with that at all. So far I just follow the DVD as is. Maybe when I get more comfortable things then I'll take a look at that. Is it basically doing the DVD in different orders? Thanks for your input guys, I really appreciate it!

As I said, I'm new also. I've purchased a bunch of DVDs (it gets addictive), but I haven't tried most of them yet because I'm still doing the Beginner Rotation. But I have watched all the DVDs that I've bought.

I think I'll be using the pre-mixes a lot !!! An awful lot !!! They give you tremendous variety.

Say that a DVD is a total body weight training workout... there will usually be a bunch of premixes:

One for upper body only
One for lower body only
One timesaver with fewer reps than the full workout.

Or if it's a circuit type DVD with cardio and weights intertwined, there will be a premix that is cardio only and one that is weights only...

and so on and so on....

But as Faithnveggies said, with the downloads you can create your own mixes with the Workout Blender....

Great! Thanks! I didn't understand the whole premix thing, it sounds like a great option. It is definitely addicting! I only have a couple but there is a ton in my wish list. I'm just trying to decide between the DVDs or the downloads (downloads are a bit easier on the checkbook!) I'll have to check out the workout blender. Thanks so much!

Maybe try one or two downloads and see how they work for you and use the blender to mix it up if you want. Do you get the Cathe newsletter? There are usually coupon codes there....
