DVD vs VHS

Okay, I need help one more time....the holiday season will be here before we know it, and I have to know if I should ask the DH for a dvd player for Christmas??? I really hate the fact that I have so much Cathe on vhs...but the idea of mixing and matching workouts, zipping to abs instead of the endless fast forward is sooo appealing. I have an old vcr and PH, MIS, PS, Imax, and Step Heat on vhs, do you think I should make the switch?? For all of you that have made the switch, so you like it better?? And is the mix on the dvds enough for you? Thanks for all your help, Donna.

Yes!

Hey Donna~DVD is awesome. I have quite a few of the earlier tapes on VHS that I replaced with DVD, but I figure I have back-ups or if I want to go away where there is just a VHS player, I can take my tapes. Just like you mentioned, the "zipping" back & forth to find what you want to do is incredible. I have a 5 player DVD and have never quite figured out how to program more then one program at a time, but it is still soo fast to go to another DVD and find something. Literally seconds! If you can get Santa to bring you one, go for it! Plus, if you want to put your VHS tapes on E-bay or another website, they will be snatched right up. I do not have StepHeat on DVD and I like that AB routine, so every now & then I wil pull that tape out. (I just keep it rewound to the AB section as soon as I complete it.) There are so many options of ways to use your different workouts when you can do it quickly. (even from one DVD to another) You won't be disappointed.

RE: Yes!

YES! What Debbie said is exactly right! You'll be SO HAPPY w/DVD and how quickly you can move about, you'll never regret getting one! You'd be surprised how fast your VHS tapes will sell too! I see that Cathe videos are always in demand!

Get a Dual DVD/VHS Player

Get yourself the DVD player from "Go Video." It is a dual DVD/VHS player. You can't loose with that! I also have many workouts on VHS that I will not give up so we decided to just get a player that can take both formats. It cost about $149 at Costco.

I got my DVD player last October, made a complete transition to DVD workouts (sold all VHS), and have not regretted it one bit.
Now, there are so many new DVD workouts being released that I would go broke trying to buy everything that I want. Cathe is at the top of the list though :-jumpy!

I didn't know they made one of those!! I will definetly look into getting one now! Ya learn something new everyday! :) Susan

I can't take it anymore!

All this talk of DVD players! I've been trying to hold off buying one, but I'm going crazy(er). Didn't someone say Playstation is also a DVD player? Hmmm....don't have any kids at home, but I know DH wants a Playstation. Scheming Cathe minds work in mysterious ways!!!:D:D:D:D

Hi Donna!

I switched to DVD and couldn't be happier! I had all of Cathe's VHS up to and including CTX but I switched anyway. And then I sold the VHS on ebay.

DVDs are SO much nicer that VHS. You can go from section to section without having to FF or Rewind. PLUS they take up MUCH less space on my shelf, so that always helps. LOL.

So my advice is to get the DVD player. I believe you will love it! :)

Thanks all.....

Oooh you guys have me convinced.....I think I shall start asking Santa as soon as he gets back from his trip to LA....And Runathon...we just had a new Costco open up down the street from my store....got to go check out that dvd/vcr combo! Thanks again and take care all!! Donna.
