Dumbbell Weight Increments Used ~ PLB

I noticed several of you said you use dumbbells for PLB. My question is what weight increments do you use. I have all weights increments up to 15's. Will this work fine?

A seperate question added. I did the Firm workouts and now am moving on. Here was a big problem for me. Once I worked up to doing hover squats and leg presses with 15lbs my hands had a hard time keeping up with my weight increases. Meaning my hands would get so tired and almost slip on me. Anyone else deal with that issue?

Thanks

I normally use 5 pound increments. I also have lifted weights for a long time. I also have used Dumbbells when my shoulder is a bit sore. I think weight increments up to 15 will work well for you.

I would suggest investing in a Barbell if the Dumbbells slip on you. I use 2 5lb ankle weights secured together, around my neck to increase the weight with my Barbell. I find 40 is easier to lift than 50 when I use the ankle weights!.....:)...Carole

You could rest the dumbells on your shoulders
I have used DBells for PLB and Barbell both are fine
I would use 2 10s to start then 12s then 15s and work back down

It depends upon your fitness level, however, in my humble opinion, how much weight you use for lunges and leg presses isn't that important. The primary weight there is your body weight. My dumbbells also only go up to 15 lbs. I'm fine with 10-12-15 or less for leg presses, lunges and deadlifts. The only exercise I need heavy weight for are squats, for which I use a barbell. It's the only time I use the barbell in the whole pyramid workout series.

So, long story short, I think it will work fine. :)
