Cathlete
Hi since I am relatively new to Cathe and the heavier weights that come with doing her tapes, I have a question about barbells. I have been looking at purchasing a barbell and some weights for it either in a set or by themselves. I am being told that a 5 ft bar weighs 14 pounds all by itself. So my question is when Cathe says she is using a barbell set with 40 pounds of weight is that including the weight of the bar itself or is that on top of the weight of the bar making it actually be 54 pounds of weight. I am kinda confused. Because to be honest the bar alone might be just enough weight on some of the exercises that she does.
I am sorry if this seems trivial or novice, but I really don't want to be overwhelmed with weights plus the weight of the bar itself. Right now I am using dumbbells for all the exercises in Power Hour which is the only weights tape I have at the moment. I am looking at possibly purchasing MIS in the near future. I have dumbbells from 3 pounds up to 15 pounds.
Thanks for all the help you educated gals can provide.
God bless you all!!
