Drill Max?

Hi. I was reviewing the Ultimate Guide to Cathe's dvds and did not see Drill Max on it. I am curious as to what everyone would rate it in terms of difficulty. I have it on its way and want to know what to expect.

Also, those of you who have Drill Max and Boot Camp, which one do you like better and which one is more difficult.

I did Body Max (borrowed from a friend) today and it kicked my butt. I am not going to get that one because I still am not the hugest fan of teh step, but I had to lower the intenisty a couple of times, so I know I got a good workout. Are Dril Max and Boot Camp even more intense cardio wise?

Here are the ratings for DM from the Ultimate Guide---Intensity-9.1, Enjoyment-8.8, Complexity-5.3
Original Boot Camp rating---Intensity-8.6, Enjoyment-8.2, Complexity-4.6
Compared to Body Max2 (I assume that is the one you did)--Intensity-9, Enjoyment-9, Complexity-7.2

As far as comparing Drill Max with Boot Camp--Drill Max is a 72 min. workout,it has 6 drills that are about 3-5 min. in length, after each drill you have a compound exercise (upper and lower) and then 2 upper body exercises, then to the next drill, etc. I will burn 540 calories doing DM.

Boot Camp is a 58 min. workout with 8 cycles(cardio, lower body, upper body and abs each 1 min. in length). The cardio portions seem more intense than in DM, but they only last 1 min. I will burn 390 calories doing BC.

ETA: I think I like DM better, but they are both good!

It;s hard for me to pick one is best because they are a little different. I must admit that due to the time issue with Drill Max, I usually do the cardio premix which is just the 6 drills. That in itself is pretty intense. The intensity for Boot Camp comes in the 1 minute of cardio. I definitely think that Drill Max is more intense but they are both great to have.

Thanks! Can you tell me where you found that? I see the Ultimate Guide post as the first post in this folder and I don't see anything on there rating the Intensity, Enjoyment and Complexity---I just see one number for each which stands for how hard the workout is.

Thanks for your input. I am excited to get it and try it. I really get bored with workouts so I really like to do new things as much as possible!

Also, the Body Max I did was the third workout on the Power Hour + dvd--so is that Body Max 2 (?) or is it just plain Body Max? Is Body Max 2 even harder? If so, I will feel like a complete failure!! Maybe I was just having an off day? (hopefully)!

Thanks! I am looking forward to getting it and trying it. The boot camp part of 4 day split is pretty good (now that I have tweaked it a bit so I don't have to change equipment so much), so I thought I would like the full one too.

I am where I want to be muscle wise (I do not want to get any bigger) I just need to lose a little bit of fat here and there to be where I want to be, so I figured some more high intensity cardio would do the trick.

From the homepage, on the left hand side, there is a link titled "Ultimate Guide"...you'll find the info there.

Hopefully you found the Ultimate Guide, but if not...the rating for BMax1 is Intensity-8.9, Enjoyment-7.3, Complexity-6.6.
The intensity is close in all three. Personally, I prefer the newer workouts b/c of the music, outfits, hairstyles, but all of Cathe's workouts are pretty intense to me.

Body Max and Body Max 2 are separate workouts.

If you found the intensity in Body Max tough, do not worry. I actually find the speed of everything too fast in Body Max without enough cool down. I think that was the style of workouts when it was created. I often wish she would just march for a minute or two between step segments/blasts so I can catch my breath.

But don't give up on Cathe's step . . .

Body Max 2 is awesome! It's just as intense and fun, but without the speed I attribute to Body Max where there is no time to take a breath. The music is great, and the upper body section is much better, IMHO. The abs are especially fun for me. You should try Body Max 2. I love it! (I just like Body Max (1) .)

phew!! Thanks so much for that assurance, that is exactly how I felt- liek once in a while I needed to stop "bouncing". My shins were also very sore the next day-again, I think it was too much "bouncing" for them. I am getting Drill Max any day, so that should be better for me because I liek the dril format over the step.
