Dreamfields Pasta and La Tortilla Factory Whole Wheat Tortillas

Hi,

I'm not one of those healthy eaters, but I'm slowly trying to improve my diet (not to lose weight). I just started buying Dreamfields Pasta and La Tortilla Factory Lo Carb Wheat Tortillas (made with whole wheat flour). Do any of you buy these products? Are they really better overall for my diet or am I just wasting my money? Any thoughts?

Thanks.:)

My mom uses Dreamfields, and I don't really notice a difference taste or texture wise between it and regular (and that's a good thing in my book!). I use whole wheat or Barilla Plus pasta, and just bought the Ronzoni Smart Taste or something like that. DH and the kids don't like the whole wheat, but they eat the other two (and don't know they are healthier!).

I haven't tried LTF's lo-carb tortillas, but I really like their Multi-grain ones (I find them under the South Beach label at Costco). 110 cals, 2.5 g fat, 8 g fiber. They are delicious :)

I didn't know Costco had the LTF's. I've been buying them at Safeway and they are pretty expensive- I think $4.69, but it's probably way less expensive at Costco and you probably get a lot more.

Thanks for the input!

I love LTF tortilla's! They are great tasting, filling, and pretty clean in my book. I use them for many concoctions that I have invented: pizza's, chicken philly wraps, buritos, quesidillas (sp?), breakfast buritos, the list goes on. But they are yummy and versatile. Enjoy!

PS: I modify all the above to be healthy recipes ;)

I love love the LTF tortillas too !

Kinda cool that you can eat a no white tortilla that has 8 grams of protein and net carbs of 2 grams.

I stopped eating soft tacos and making enchiladas for a while but now I go for it - they make great quick rollups too! I just add some turkey, LF cheese and a few leafs of romaine. Very tasty.

Don't know anything about Dreamfields - I just use whole wheat pasta when I can, DH won't eat it so I try to make halfsies.

I've been eating the low-carb whole wheat tortillas & flatbreads for about 3 yrs now, love them!! Higher fiber & more protein than a sandwich- I use them for burritos/ tacos, sandwiches (chicken & low-fat cheese, ham, etc), breakfast egg roll-ups, pizzas, or even w/ some Naturally More PB, etc. I found the Santa Fe tortillas at Sam's club where you can get 20 of them for around $4. (cheaper than I've found the LTF tortillas)

I haven't tried the Dreamfields pasta, but usually get the whole wheat or Barilla Plus pasta now. My kids like it too!

HTH!
