Dreaded 1-2pm loss of power

Just a little rant-

I really hate the feeling of energyless (not a word...but meaning not an ounce of energy over the basic autofunctions ie breathing, blinking, and sometimes staying seated erect) that happens not right after lunch but somewhere after lunch before gettting to the time that is happy cuz work is almost over!!!

Ofcourse this energy zap period is worse if eating large meal at lunch, but even happens when eating clean small meals throughout the day. I know it is some natural kind of bio-rythm (cant even spell right during this blackout phase)

I want a cot to lie down on and just snooz for say maybe 30 minutes...what up with that...anyone beaten the black hole of engeryless?

I am getting sleepy, sleeeeeeeeepy, sleeeeeeeeeeeeeee zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
 
I used to get like that when I ate low fat and high carb. For me, it created energy drops and crashed. When I started adding some protein and good fats back into my diet it helped tremendously. Also eating six small meals a day seems to help me.

Yes, and a bit of activity, like a brisk walk or using the stairs instead of the elevator, after lunch, always helped me too. But I noticed a huge difference with a light hi-protein lunch, and stay well-hydrated.

I sometimes splash my face with cold water, but I don't wear makeup so I don't know if that's possible for you.
 
One question. Do you sit at a desk most of the day at a computer? I do and I notice at about 2:30 I get so sleepy. Now if I'm really busy doing something I don't notice it as much but the days I stare at the computer screen all day really kills me. No matter what I eat. I have found that when I get like this I stand up and do stretches like stand at one of my file cabinets and put my hands on top and then put my head between my arms and stretch my spine. Also I'll use my desk to put my foot up on and stretch the back of my legs to release some of the tension. I know this sounds funny but it really helps me.

Yes I am my desk most of the day...Accountant...which is pretty much a Yawn ...If I am challenged then the time flies..but most days are just getting stuff done...

I do eat the six small meals...lean protien...complex carb...about 300 cals each meal...I get up at 3:30 am....workout...make lunches, fix breakfast, get kids up etc...so I think by about 1-2 I kinda peak out....I do get enough sleep at night cuz I crash at 8-8:30....

Thanks for all the advice ...I will try to move it when it gets sleepy ...LOL
