Download on Android Tablets?

I'm about to pre-order XTRAIN. I was wondering if Cathe downloads will work on Android Tablets? Thanks!

I had a rooted Nook Color and now have an ASUS Transformer Prime. The Cathe downloads play/played on both without doing anything special to them. Naturally, you need a video player app, but it's likely your tablet came with one installed.

Nancy,

are you saying you can play Cathy workouts on a Nook? I'd like to hear more about that if you can let me know...I have the Nook Classic, ( the first model).

No, I don't think you would be able to play the workouts on the original Nook, as the technology is different. I'm not certain whether you can play the videos on the Nook Color and Nook Tablet, but I'm guessing you can.

I should have left the information about using a rooted Nook Color off, as it's probably just confusing the issue. When you root a device, you alter the operating system. In the case of the Nook Color, you replace the restricted system that Barnes & Noble has installed on the device with the full Android operating system that gives you access to the full Google Play Store and not just the apps that BN allows. Since you have the original Nook, even those limited apps are not available to you since they will not work with the e-ink technology your device uses. I'm sorry that I muddled things. I am going to try right now to see whether I can put a Cathe video onto a microSD card and play it on my unrooted, stock Nook Color that I have, and will report back.

Edit: Yes, Cathe downloads play on a Nook Color. The volume is not very high, though.

Hi Nancy,

that's interesting, so you used a Cathe download on an SD card (I assume we hve those for the Nook, ?) and put that in the NOOK to play? But you think the classic is different than the color version? mmmm...interesting..

Yes, I copied the downloaded file to the microSD card and inserted it into the slot that is in the back of the Nook Color, went to Library>My Files>Videos. You do have the capability of using a microSD card with the Nook Classic to be able to store even more books than you can directly on the device, but I doubt it will play videos, again, because of the difference between the e-ink technology and the tablet technology of the Nook Color and Nook Classic.
