Don't you hate when this happens

when you're reminded of something so funny and you just happen to be on the bus, train, work, where ever b/c you just burst out into a laughter and people look at you like you're nuts....well I was just in the pantry at the office when I thought of the movie "Arsenic and Old Lace--I LOVE that movie. Well anyway I thought of Peter Lorre when he was sitting at the table looking at the photograph book that "Teddy" brought up from the basement and told him one of the generals in the book was him and Peter responded, "My how I've changed" that line alone has me cracking up. Right now there's a maintenance guy next to me working on the light fixture and I know he thinks I'm stupid b/c I just laughing at that part. Peter eyes are so damn big.

For everyone whose watched the movie will know what I'm talking about, if no one has ever seen this movie it's one to see.

I seem to do it when I'm driving. My side and back windows are slightly tinted, but the drivers facing me must think I'm crazy driving down the road laughing in the car by myself.:p

OMG Haydee I so love that movie--Cary Grant is absolutely adorable in it. Talk about big eyes! The expressions on his face--the one I always remember is when he opens the window seat, slams it shut & sits down on it. Definitely a classic.

Sometimes when I'm in a boring meeting at work, I'll think of something my sweet, awesome, little 19 month old nephew did or said and I'll get a really big silly grin on my face. I'm sure I look like a complete goofball.

Just the other day my sister told me that they were all doing their pre-dinner blessing. My sister asked my nephew what he was thankful and he said (brilliant child) "Aunt Boo" (that's me; Boo is toddler-eeze for Barb). Well, that story put that silly grin on my face at all sorts of odd times (in elevators, at those boring meetings I mentioned, during my annual review with my boss, etc).

Yeah, I can relate.

Haydee, I never saw the movie entirely, but I was in the play in high school. Believe it or not, I played Mr. Witherspoon (the guy from the mental hospital that comes for Teddy). I wasn't a very good actress, so I got a very small part.:( Also, there was a shortage of boys in our drama club, so a few of the male parts were played by girls.

Oh! And I know what you mean about breaking out into laughter. I do it all the time. I hate when I do it and my husband is around because he'll ask what's so funny. Most of the time it's something that happened a long time ago with my family or friends and it's just not funny unless you were there. So he gets all pouty if I don't tell him. Then of course, he doesn't find it funny.

Or what about when you're reading greeting cards at Hallmark and can't stop laughing? Or at the bookstore? I was reading "Walter the Farting Dog" to my daughter at Waldenbooks before Christmas and I was laughing so hard, I couldn't even read some of the pages. I'm sure there were people looking at us like we were Bozos.

Donna,

That's exactly how I decide if I'm going to by a greeting card. If it makes me laugh out loud in the store, I must buy it.

Oh yeah how could I forget about that face. And what about when he (Cary Grant) asks his brother, "Where'd you get that face, Hollywood?"
And what about when Cary says to Jonathan, "Listen handsome". Then when Cary tells his two aunts to go upstairs and change b/c they look like a double blackout. OMGness I'm actually visualizing the movie at my desk and cracking up. I gotta watch this again tonight.

Oh Donna you got watch the movie in its entirety. I think you will get a good laugh.

Or when his uncle (AKA Teddy Roosevelt) yells "CHARGE!" & runs down the stairs. And goes into the basement to dig the Panama Canal.

OK now I'm gonna have to watch this again, it's been a while since I've seen it & it is one of my favorites. It'll be perfect for my snowday tomorrow. :)

I do that too Shelbygirl.

I just had a laughing moment myself here at work. The other night my husband was in the bathroom getting ready for bed and he farted (not really that unusual) and he said "What was that a C sharp?" It never changed pitch. Usually you know how farts will sound different. He is a trombone player (very good might I add) and his farts are so musical that it makes me laugh everytime. Had to share it.

Happens to me all the time. Only, they are usually things I'm embarrased to tell because they don't come from a movie or a joke, but instead, they come from my imagination.

I LOVE the Hallmark greeting cards

Theres been many a time when I have all good intentions to go in, pick a card, and leave, but noooo! I end up staying at least 15 minutes more reading them and laughing out loud (no embarrisment here!)

One time a person standing next to me in the card section, gave me such a "weird" look that I showed him the card I was laughing at, to prove I wasnt a laughing nut case over nothing.

However, the "party pooper" that he was, didnt think the card was funny and excused himself. How RUDE was that!!
