My two pet peeves are instructors that haven't reversed their right and left. I figure if you can have a video you can learn how to mirror your students. Or when they do 2 reps on one side and 20 on the other. Cathe prevents this with Cedie which I think is brilliant. Personally I count on my fingers while I talk and cue.
Yes, yes and yes!!!! I feel like screaming when an instructor (hated Billy Blanks for this) does 20 reps on one side, then I have to go pause the tape and do 20 reps on the other side because he forgot to do it. What I hate even more is that he KNOWS he didn't do all the necessary reps, but tells US to go ahead and pause the tape to do so! Ugggh.
I also cannot stand instructors with fake energy. Eg. Denise Austin (not to offend anyone), but, she has this breathy voice and super pumped energy that comes across as barbie-ish. I cannot stand to do any of her workouts anymore (although her intensity is a lot lower than where I'm at now).
