Hi,
I would like to get some Cathe workouts, but don't know which ones to get. Right now I have The Firm BSS1 & BSS2, Slim in 6, Slim Series, Power 90 & core secrets. I feel that I need more cardio in my workouts. It takes me a while to get the step moves down. So I am a little nervous that I won't be able to do Cathe:( I want to tone up some more and lose some body fat. I have hit a platue(SP). I am 5'5' and 132pds. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Steph:)

HI Steph, I'm kind of new too, and I ordered the intensity series a few weeks ago. Cardio and weights has some pretty easy stepping and IMAX 2 is awesome.... it just takes a few tries to learn some of it. BUt you sure do break a sweat!! I can't say enough about the whole collecton- I love every workout! (especially boot camp- the cardio sections here don't use a step) Good luck with your desicion, let us know what you decide on! -Tina:)

I LOVE THE BODY BLAST AND THE INTENSITY SERIES. CPK DOES NOT NEED STEP BUT THE STEP OF CATHE IS NOT TO MUCH DIFFICULT AND YOU WILL LEARN THE MOVES EASILY. I THOUGHT I WAS A TWO LEFT FOOT WITH THE STEP BUT I LOVE STEP BLAST AND SJP. GIVE A CHANCE TO THE STEP OF CATHE. SHE IS THE BEST. :) :) :)

The Cardio & Weights and IMAX2 DVD is amazing. I LOVE it. The steps are not complicated at all. After a little practice with step, you'll be flying through it. Just like riding a bike, once you get it it's GREAT!

I also recommend Cardio & Weights. I have the IMAX2 and Cardio & Weights DVD, and I just love it.

Cathe's step workouts are more complicated than the Firm, but OMG, are they fun! So what I do is have a little more patience, and I don't expect to get it the first try. It took me a month to learn Cardio & Weights and IMAX2, but they are so totally worth the extra effort.

Cardio & Weights would be the easier of the two to learn IMO.

If you're totally new to Cathe and it takes you a bit longer to get the steps, I would suggest trying out some of her older videos first like the wedding video or Step Heat. Once you've mastered those, you might want to move on to videos like PowerMax or Mega Step Blast. From there, I'd say the next stop up the Cathe choreography ladder would be Step Fit and Step Works. This is where she starts getting a bit tricky. I am a total klutz, and I find her newer workouts to be a bit too complex for me at this point. So, this is how I've progressed in learning her steps.

Good Luck!

Hi Steph,

I recently made the move from FIRM to Cathe, and know what you mean about being somewhat intimidated by the choreography. I second the votes for Cardio & Weights and Imax 2. Also, the step section in Step, Jump & Pump is AWESOME and very do-able.

In addition, I'd add a vote for the High Step Circuit and/or High Step Training videos. The cardio bursts are short (a la FIRM) but because Cathe's circuits are so intense, your HR stays up. Because you can adjust the weight you use, either could be beneficial to you (e.g., add more weight to High Step Circuit or use lighter weight, if needed, for High Step Training). The High Step is the same height as the FIRM Fanny Lifter, so it's easy to make the transition with these workouts.

Good luck!
Victoria

Thanks for all the advice. I think I am going to get Cardio Kicks. I love kickboxing. I want a pure cardio workout and that one looks good from the previews. I am also thinking about getting the Body Blast Vol 1 and 2. Let me know what you guys think. I was wondering can you use your Fanny Lifter for the High step? Or will I have to buy one? I already have to buy a normal step since I only have the fanny lifter. Thanks again.

Steph
