I've been using dumbells instead of the bar because I don't have one (kind of tight on space in my workout room). Does the bar do a better job isolating the muscles you are targeting and helping you work them to exhausion?
Hi Les! Certain exercises feel better with a bar and some feel better with dumbbells but using either piece of equipment is effective regardless of the exercises (in most cases that is). If you ever decide to make room for a barbell down the road I think you will enjoy the different feeling that the barbell brings to the workout. Keep up the great work
