I'm tring to decide which step video and all over workout video to buy next. Iv'e been doing basic step and alternate days by walking/jogging 4 miles . I need to something to help with all over workout. I have to alittle careful because about 8 months ago I had a hernaited disk in my lower back. Could use some suggestions. Thanks:)

Hi Nancyanna, welcome to the boards:) Obviously not Cathe but thought I'd make a suggestion. If you don't have a lot of trouble with choreography then LowMax would be perfect for you. The entire workout is low impact (good for your back) and works the muscles of the lowerbody very well with low impact blasts. There are a lot of controlled 'sculpting' moves that require your core to be 'turned on' which will also be great work for your low back. It's a fun and very effective workout. Good Luck!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hi Laurie, Thanks for responding to my question. I was going to order today but think I'll wait till Monday maybe I'll get some more feedback over the weekend. Have a great day Thanks Nancyanna:)

Hi the DVD I got after basic step was Low Impact Step. It comes with a total body sculpting segment. I would alternate doing LIS on one day and Total Body sculpt the next day. After about 4 to six weeks I purchased Cardio & Weights. I found I got great results with C&W. I waited quite awhile before I attempted to do Imax 2 (which is on the same DVD as C&W). Cathe has even posted a great beginner rotation that includes basic step and low impact step.

Best of luck with what ever you choose.

Hi ---

I'm pretty new to Cathe too. I found Cardio and Weights a pretty good next step as well. I also agree with Low Impact Step. Low Max is great, although I do find it MUCH more challenging than Basic Step.

Good luck!

Hi Nancyanna! Nice to hear from you. I would recommend Low Impact Step as your next choice. It is a natural progression from Basic Step as far as choreography goes. I think it will challenge you but not overwhelm you. Here is the workout description:

Low Impact Step - This 40 minute, beginner to intermediate, low impact step routine is fun and easy to follow. This DVD should be your next purchase from us after you have mastered Cathe's Basic Step + Body Fusion DVD. You'll burn fat, calories, and shape your buns and thighs while doing intense low impact step choreography mixed with challenging low impact blasts. For best results, it is recommended that you do the workout three times per week as well as watch the routine first to become more familiar with the choreography. The workout is performed on an 6 inch platform, but any step height lower than 6 inches is fine as long as your heart rate remains in its training zone for the duration of the workout.
