Doing a Cathe rotation for the first time...

Hi,

I'm doing one of Cathe's rotations for the first time. I am doing the "Muscle Endurance" rotation posted for the Hardcore series. Any suggestions as to what to do when a run is scheduled for that day? There is tons of snow here and the cold dry air triggers my EIA even with the inhaler. I don't have a treadmill or any other kind of machine. Maybe a section from one of Cathe's other videos? What do you think would work the best?

I am not a runner either. I'm going to check with my doctor and see if he thinks I can try to start running this summer though. I have a cervical herniated disc, so I'm not sure the impact is good for me. What I have been doing on the run days in my Hardcore Rotation is a premix from the Imax 2 DVD called Blast Mania. It contains all of the blasts from the DVD and I do the higher ones on my rebounder. It really gets your heartrate up. I also jog on the rebounder, as the rebounder takes the impact out. I have been doing some impact on the floor and some on the rebounder as my body gets used to the higher impact style. If you don't have a rebounder, it would be worth looking into. I've gotten a lot of use out of mine with Cathe's DVDs so far. Another option would just be a high intensity premix of aerobics from any cardio tape, as long as you keep your heartrate pretty elevated, as running is probably the best cardiovascular exercise.
