Does anyone really tried this workout? Does it really burn 1000 calorie. I did it and it did burn only 350 - 400 calories. I'm just curious if any of you have any thoughts about it?
Thanks...
Jera

I have this work out and although it is a good one I would be VERY hard pressed to believe it burned 1000 calories! LOL It's a circuit work out. It does it's job but there is nothing out of this world about it. I guess if you are morbidly obese you may burn that much but the average person? No way!

Nope - it doesn't. I don't know how they got that number. However, it is a great workout - fun to do and you will definitely huff and puff, and feel the burn.

I agree with the previous posters. I have done it several times and have never burnt nearly 1000 calories...and I am overweight...though not morbidly obese;).

Thank you for giving me the feedback. Now I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one :) I thought maybe my heartrate monitor is not working well.

I have gotten as high as 500 calories total, about the same cal/min rate as an intense Cardio Coach session - but I had to use heavier weights than I like for the speed that Jari goes. At a more comfortable pace andwith weights that feel safe at higher speed, I usually burn around 300. I'm finding - there was a drop in my max burn rate per hour the first two years I was working out, but this year, when I've been focusing on cardiovascular improvements and heavier weights, I am actually able to burn more in an hour... maybe because I am able to push my HR higher for longer, safely (by a pretty significant amount, from a max of 132 to more like 163; I'm 47). Still, my body is unlikely to be burning 1000 cal for that workout even flat out, heavy weights, no holds barred :)

Possibly, if I did something intensely cardio beforehand so that I started at 75% max heart rate and was able to keep it up without dying for an hour, I could hit 600. Somehow I'm not particularly motivated to try that :)

I burned 544 calories doing this workout which was about 1.5 years ago so i was 42 at the time. I've never done any workout that burns 1000 calories. Low Max also burned the same amount for me.

My HRM says I burned 466 calories when I did this workout last month. I've only done it the one time, and I was definitely challenged by it. But, I knew even before buying/doing it there was NO WAY the average person would burn anywhere close to 1000 calories doing a 1 hour workout. It's a pretty outrageous claim, but still a pretty good workout.

It says "up to" 1000 calories, so maybe a huge guy (like Greg in STS?) might burn that many.

It's bit of a stretch, though, IMO.

I love all of Jari's workouts but every time she mentions how the workout is burning carbs, I think of the movie Mean Girls. For revenge, Linsey Lohan gives this girl some fattening nutrition bars and tells her they burn carbs.

"It burns carbs. It just burns up all your carbs.":D
